    Hello,

I mainly purchased your great plugin because of the map view. We run classes all over the world and I’d like to have a page where I can see all the different places on the map.

Unfortunately the map doesn’t seem to work on my page. In list view I see all events, but when I change into map view I get the message “No matching events listed under Weekly Classes. Please try viewing the full calendar for a complete list of events.” Also the search for “location”, but also for “search” (=keyword!?) doesn’t show any results.

Hope you can help me solve this issue.

    Cheers

And second issue: I’d like to set a different default view for different categories. How does the URL look like. Should be some combination between the two of them???

    VIEW
    /events/month/

    CATEGORIE
    /events/category/category-slug/

    Thanks
    yu

    Hi. Thanks for contacting us.

In order to use the map view, each event needs to be assigned a venue that has geocoded data.

For example, if you have Event A at Venue L, Event A won’t appear on the map unless Venue L is able to be mapped by Google Maps (either valid address information or manually-entered lat/long).

Regarding your second question, we keep each thread to a single issue so if you have follow-up questions, please open a new thread. However, the quick answer is that you can go to wp-admin > Events > Event Categories and find each category’s URL, like this: http://cl.ly/2y3j3U1E4634

Looking forward to hearing back from you…

    Hello,

thank you for your answer. As you can see on my site the venues all have geocoded data. At least on every event page the Google Map is shown with the right address on it.

So what else could be the issue? Unfortunately I did an update of your plugins (Event Calendar, Event Calendar Pro) today and since then I can’t see the map view at all, but only a “Page not found” error comes up (same for the view week and photo).

    Cheers

I downgraded the plugins back to the last working version. Even though the map issue is not solved yet. Please help!

Probably not necessary, but here’s information about Venue geodata:

    • If you go to the Venue’s single page (only viewable with PRO active), do you see a map and its Upcoming Events? e.g. http://cl.ly/3u2Q0Y1Z073Q
    • If there’s no map, does your Venue have latitude and longitude data? e.g. http://cl.ly/1k1z2x3S162V

From what you’re saying, it sounds like you don’t think that’s the issue, in which case, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

I’d also suggest using the latest versions of all our plugins.

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.

    Hola

Carmen, I don’t speak Spanish, but if you’re having the same issue, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of your issue.

If it does not, please open your own thread so we can address each customer’s issues separately.

    Thank you.

    Desmond, how are you doing?

    Hi Cliff,

as said for single events it worked for me just using the address of the venue, but not the latitude/longitude. With this method I could see Google Maps on single event posts.

As you suggested I added also latitude/longitude to every venue now. And finally the map overview ist working for me. That’s great!

But this means I’ve got to search for the corresponding latidude/longitude for every of my venues!!! Is the plugin meant to work like this?

    Cheers
    yu

PS: Are the bugs of the latest version of your plugins fixed now? Can I update without getting errors on my page?

Desmond, it’s not normal behavior (i.e. I can’t replicate it) to have to input the lat/long for each Venue. Really, it’s there in the event Google Maps is incorrect or you don’t have an address and only have lat/long.

When something’s not working as it should, we recommend following the Testing for Conflicts Guide (link in my previous reply) and if that doesn’t work, please share your System Information to help diagnose the problem.

Also, please send a screenshot of what you’ve entered in the Venue wp-admin edit page (having saved the post but not yet entered manual lat/long data).

    Let me know!

I’m have the same issue. If you go to my events you will see the google map and it works fine, however map view does not work. It shows in my admin section to select map view but will not show in the drop down on the front-end page. Only gives me options for List, Month, Day.

If you go to http://events.startyourlife.com/events/map its just a 404 when it used to be a map before I updated the plugin to 4.1

So I found out that my plugin folder name for events calendar pro had some weird compu_restore in the title. Once I removed it and added the original name, it works.

    isagenix,

    Thanks for sharing.

We did have an odd auto-update bug recently that changed the plugin folder names for quite a few people (even though the bug was only in effect for 1 day).

    Desmond,

Please check the names of your directory names — e.g. PRO add-on should be like /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro

    Hi,

I had the same issue with the map screen not showing events that had been imported automatically from Facebook but the maps functioned in the events pages themselves.

We fixed the issue by looking at the venues and checking that all address information had been entered correctly. We found that if the state / province was missing or the address line contained multiple entries (house name and road name) the venue would not show on the events map.

Once these addresses had been updated all of the missing venues (and associated events) appeared on the events map page as expected.

    I hope this helps.
