    Hello there.

I’m having some relatively serious trouble with ECP displaying the wrong event dates for recurring events.

When I go to the main event page for a recurring event (by main I mean not the page for a specific event date, as in mysite.com/event/event-name/instance-date, but rather an address of the form mysite.com/event/event-name) the date displayed seems to be random or otherwise wrong.

    Examples from my own site:

Here is a recurring event which is currently in session. The next instance of this event will occur on July 5th, 2012. But the event page has August 9th, 2012 as start date. Same thing here, with a start date of August 15th when the next session is on July 11th.

Even worse, some events list their start dates as being in the past. See here for an example; in that case, the start date listed is the one for the first session of this weekly class. This at least makes more sense than the other two cases, but it is nonetheless extremely confusing to display a big “This event has passed” notice for an event which is actually in session.

This behavior seems outright broken and wrong. Am I missing something? What am I doing wrong?

Or perhaps you just haven’t got around to implementing recurring events properly. But since this feature is the main reason I (as many others, I’m sure) have upgraded to the current version of ECP, I would hope for at least a workaround and an ETA to a complete fix.

Please let me know. Thanks much and keep up the good work!

    Hello EmTab,
I am searching to see if this is a logged issue that other people have had problems with, both in our forum and on our own internal development bug log, but I can’t find anything.

I’m wondering if perhaps you made a modification to one the occurrences of this repeating event, and did not click to update all future events after that, when it came time to save?

Something might have gotten mixed up, somehow, as edits were being made.

I would suggest that you delete all the instances of the recurring events, and then recreate it all together. See if that helps.

Recurring events are meant to happen at certain intervals, so if the intervals are not regular, and you were to go in and make edits to future instances of the event, to change the date so it is different from the interval as set up in the first event, it could cause some mix up if not saved properly, or for whatever reason.

Also, can you try to re-save your permalinks?

Can you also try to set up your date settings in the general WordPress settings area, so dates display as you like them site wide? And also set your time zone?

Let me know if this helps.

Hello again EmTab, I found this thread, can you tell me if this is the same thing you experience when editing recurring events?

Consistent Glitch with editing repeating events

Also, are you using the latest version of WordPress, our plugin, and all our add-ons?
