ParticipantHello,
I had the same problem as this person here https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/events-calendar-pro-aggregator-not-working/
So, I changed the import dates for troubleshooting purposes, but that is not my main issue. Global Import Limit is 1 month. “other url” settings is 72 hrs.
I also set the start date to be Start:July 22, 2018
The event import results were as follows:
Your scheduled import was saved and the first import is complete!
70 new events were imported. 23 new images were imported.
7 new organizers were imported. View your event organizers
8 new event categories were created. View your event categories
The next import is scheduled for July 23, 2018 at 5:18 pm. View your scheduled imports. So, it still important events from 2 years ago and I don’t want any from the past. There aren’t any for the future because I tested the date very narrowly to make sure it would work.
Also all 70 published events are for the same start and end date on the back end.
It did not seem to import venues. At least one ended up in the trash (see private reply).
I made sure that both sites were on the latest version (I own both sites). This is a fresh installation of TEC and the site had never used TEC before.
Finally, there are 177 items from events in the trash and I cannot empty the trash because it times out. I can’t recall if these came from my first attempt at importing, or this attempt. 504 Gateway Time-out.
All in all it has been odd.
I am providing an admin login info in a private reply.
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Laura,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
Can you provide me with the URL that you are trying to import, so that I can do some testing on my end?
Also, can you enable and check the Event Log under Events < Help to see if you see anything unusual?
Right under that is your Event Aggregator Status. Can you take a screenshot of what you see there?
In addition, can you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see?
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterHi Laura,
Thanks for providing me with all of that information.
The best/simplest way to solve this timeout issue is by increasing the max_execution_time in php.ini (the default value is 30 seconds):
max_execution_time = 60If increasing the max_execution_time to 1 minute is still not enough, you can adjust/increase it more to ensure that the server will have time to process your requests before it hangs.
I hope this helps, let me know how it goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantThanks. My host bumped that up, but I am going to leave the items in the trash after all to help with troubleshooting. Some of those things ended up in there during the import and I don’t know why.

KeymasterHi Laura,
Okay, thanks for the update. Let me know if you are still getting that error and if you have any additional questions!

ParticipantThe main problem is that it imports all the events from the past two years and ignores the fact that I set the start date to be Start:July 22, 2018.
I am doing a project where one of the calendars I am pulling from is quite busy and has a lot of events from the past two years, and it’s going to be too much.
Also please note again in my first message all the other quirks.

KeymasterHm, that is strange. When I imported with that URL, I only saw one (future) event being imported. Can you take a screenshot of how your import looks, including the preview, so that I can see what you’re seeing?

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
