ParticipantAfter creating a series and ticket for my events, we wanted to break from series an item and add more details to it. When I did that, it detached the ticket from the series. Is there a way to leave the ticket on the series and require a new ticket on the event that was broken out?

MemberHi, Scott.
Unfortunately, our ticketing plugins do not currently support PRO’s recurring events functionality.
I believe you’re requesting the same thing as one of our existing feature requests: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/3685663-recurring-event-support-for-tickets — Please do add your vote.
One workaround idea is to create all your recurring events, break them all from the recurrence series (so they become single/standalone events) and then add tickets to each single/standalone event.
You might also want to reference this recent thread regarding moving tickets (not specific to recurring events).
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

ParticipantThanks, Cliff…
As I can see from the included thread, this is a pretty noticeable
deficiency in the plugin.Just so I am clear, what is happening to a recurring event in which I’ve
attached a ticket? The thread says you can only book for the upcoming
events so if I have a recurring event on Saturday and Sunday with a a
ticket, what happens when a member purchases the ticket.Regarding your workaround, is there a way to break out all in a series or
do I have to do it one by one, manually?Look forward to this upgrade.

MemberBreaking from a series is a per-occurrence (yes, one-by-one) task.
My understanding of tickets on recurring events is that the ticket is technically attached to the initial occurrence (the parent post) and therefore if you later break an occurrence from the series, the ticket will still be attached to the parent post, not the broken out new post.
This is part of the technical challenge of implementing tickets for recurring events, and, therefore, recurring events is getting major infrastructural changes over the next few months in order to gradually build-out the ability to attach tickets to an occurrence within a series.
Maybe that’s more than you were wanting to know about it… anyway, I’d guess that if you have a ticket attached to the parent post, break out one of the occurrences from the series and then move each ticket to this newly-created standalone event.
If that sounds like it might work for you, please give it a try on a test version of your site or a separate testing site and let me know how it works for you.

ParticipantJust to clarify…if I create a recurring event with a ticket count of 28 for those events and do not make any changes to that event or break it out of the series, the event will issue the same type of ticket for each event up to 28/event?
All I care about for one of the recurring events is that a ticket is issued for the date that the user selected.

MemberI’m not completely following your example, but the “all I care about” part is exactly what ” our ticketing plugins do not currently support PRO’s recurring events functionality” means…
I’m sorry this functionality does not exist at this time.
Please let me know if you think there’s anything more I can help with here.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
