I’m looking for 2 specific features. Can you tell me if this is available in Free, in Pro or upcoming?

    1. The ability for users of a specific role to submit an event from the front-end. Perhaps integrated with a front-end publisher. The idea is when they submit a post about a topic – they can also submit related events. (if Yes – is there an optional approval processs by admin just like the posting article permissions differentiation between contributor and author?

    2. I need a shortcode to display an events list of certain tags only – not categories. So one – are short codes available for displaying events? and can an event have a tag?

I have one page on my site for each tag (kind of a blown-out tag-archive page) with lots of information about the tag. The goal is to show events specific to that tag on the tag page. I don’t think this can be done with the widget itself because I can’t have a different widget for each page. But I can do it with a shortcode inserted into a side widget.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Thanks for the interest in our plugins I can help answer your questions.

We have the Community Events Plugin that enables front end submission of events. You could limit it to a specific role on the front end if you like. The creation of that role or registration is not part of that plugin. It also has no ties to the post editor so it is not possible to create a post and submit a related event without customization on your end. There is either the status to have all events approved or unless an admin to set them to pending approval.

You can see how all the features for Community Events here:

    New User Primer: Community Events

    2. I need a shortcode to display an events list of certain tags only – not categories. So one – are short codes available for displaying events? and can an event have a tag?

We only have the minicalendar shortcode. So we do not have this feature. There is the Event Rocket Plugin an unofficial plugin maintained by some of our developers that has shortcodes in it:

    Event Rocket

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks

    Hey Brian,

Thanks for the responses. Is it possible to configure the list widget to show events of a certain tag only? I am trying out the free version and notice you can add a tag to events. What’s the purpose of this? It doesn’t automatically show on a post with the same tag or the tag archive page?

Also the list widget is formatted very poorly. huge text and lots of un-needed white space. I just need a tight neat list of events – title and date only with regular size font. Can this easily be done in Pro?

The list widget has the ability to filter by Event Categories in Pro, it does not have a filter for tags.

Since tags are shared with Posts it could be a way to related events and posts if you would develop the coding for it.

It sounds like your theme’s css is conflicting with the Event List Widget.

It could be something Pro fixes, but most likely it would be custom css to resolve it. We maybe to help as a Pro user, but if it is a lot of changes we would not be able to help out.

    Thanks
