ParticipantHi. We have (4) locations and whenever I try to type any of the locations into the “Near” box, it doesn’t show any results.
Calendar is here: http://officentric.com/events-dev/
Our (4) locations are Carlsbad, Temecula, Chandler and Phoenix. We want users to be able to search the calendar by location and the only way I can find to do that is to type it in the Location Search Box, but it is not working?
If there is a better way to have users search by location, please let me know.
Thanks!

ModeratorHey, Jordan!
Shoutout from Chandler! I’m sitting in downtown enjoying some coffee and working away! I’d be happy to help investigate the issue with you. I see you checked ‘Yes’ to both reverting back to the default WP theme and deactivating all plugins other than our as outlined in the Testing for conflicts guide, but can you please confirm this?
I did a quick check to see if I could reproduce the issue on my test environment but was unable to do so. Let me know how everything goes and enjoy the rest of your evening. Cheers!

ParticipantHi Hunter!
Yes, I did try both ways. When I did so, a few things got messed up that I had to fix so I’d rather not do it again unless absolutely necessary.
When you type “Temecula” into the Location search box, you are getting a result? For me, it just shows the 4 events that are already currently there, 3 of which are not Temecula..?

ModeratorHey Jordan,
I experienced the same behavior as you described. I’ve worked with the Avada theme personally, so you might want to try visiting the Advanced > Dynamic CSS theme option tab and try different settings there. The Testing for conflicts guide is super important because it helps identify exactly where the conflict is coming from. Once we have that information, it makes it much easier to find a viable solution.
If you can provide specific details on your findings, it would honestly help a lot here. We are limited on the amount of support we can provide in these instances, but I’ll do my best to help out. Thanks for understanding and I look forward to your response. Cheers!

ParticipantHi Hunter. So I figured out the issue. The search was actually working fine, the problem was that the “geo tags” were not updated for the locations so the search could not find them according to the city I was typing in the “Near” location box. It now works like a charm!
I did run into another issue though I’m hoping you can help me with.
When I do a search, click on an event, then click the browser “back” button, I get a 404. To replicate what I’m talking about, do the following:
1) Go to: http://officentric.com/events/
2) Search for “Carlsbad” in the Location box.
3) Click on Fully Loaded Juice event.
4) Once on the event page, click your browser “back” button.
5) You will land on the 404 page and not back on the calendar. If you could help me out with this issue it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

ModeratorGlad issue #1 was resolved! If you wouldn’t mind, create a new thread and essentially copy/paste or link to what you’ve described above. It’s a forum requirement to create new threads in these instances. Thanks for understanding and I’ll keep an eye on the queue for your thread. Cheers 🙂
