    Hi guys,

Just started using the calendar plugin for a client’s site. The location search doesn’t seem to work at all, either when searching by venue name, postcode or address. Here’s a quick screencast that illustrates the issue: http://quick.as/x7zrspl3w

I’ve tried tinkering with the “Map view search distance limit” setting but this doesn’t seem to do anything.
For a live example, try searching for BN2 0GE on http://www.fitbitchbootcamp.com/events/

We are experiencing the same issue. It doesn’t work. In the meantime, we’ve stripped the search feature down to just date. Please advise and thanks for an awesome plugin!

    Hi Rachael,

I visited your events page and when I tried searching, I couldn’t even get results to load when I searched by location. There seems to be a good amount of JavaScript-related activity on your page (in the console when viewing the page), and when I went to your page your custom theme and other plugins were active.

Is there any way you could temporarily leave the site in the state it was in when you recorded your screencast? I’ll take another look at things and see what’s going on.

    Thank you!
    George

    Hey Brad,

I’m sorry you’ve run into similar problems here – however, Rachael’s issues seem somewhat specific to her site, so could you open a new thread on the forums so we can handle yours separately to keep things organized? Include a link to your site and let us know what you find if you run through the troubleshooting steps outlined here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

    Thank you!
    George

Thanks George. I’ll take a look at the “Conflicts” info. Our site is using a “Coming Soon” plugin, so the site isn’t live. We’re hoping to launch in the next day or so. I can send a link at that time if necessary.

Hi George, here is a clean install running no plugins and using the 2015 theme:

    http://www.alexandtheweb.com/fitbitch/events

If you search for “Worthing” or “brighton” (or one of the post codes) nothing gets narrowed down.

    Hey Rachael,

Things actually work for me here. Here’s a complete rundown of my findings on that new test site:

    1. The simple “Search” box (not the “Near:” box) works fine – if you type “worthing” or “brighton” here, the appropriate event is retrieved.

    2. The Location search does work for “East Sussex”. Type East Sussex into the “Near:” box, and the “suggestion” for that location should pop up upon submitting. It does for me: https://cloudup.com/c53vBtPOObd

Then, when that location is clicked, it does appropriately filter the events.

    3. The location search does work when I type in “Montpelier Road” – it suggests and address that, when clicked, filters the events appropriately → https://cloudup.com/chHYoFGAewd
