Hi,
The Event calendar page takes too much of time to load on the browser where other pages are not taking so. Why is that happening and what be done to solve this issue. Please advise ASAP. Thank you.
April 12, 2017 at 11:56 am #1269057VictorKeymasterHi Gisela!
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’m sorry you are having that issue.
It seems to be you are experiencing a performance problem and they can be difficult to tackle.
Could you please share with us your system info by following this guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
How many events are there is your calendar? Are you on a shared hosting or VPN?
Did the calendar page started to be slow all of a sudden or did it gradually become slower?
We have a great article that will get you started on Performance Considerations you should know about. After that, if you decide to implement a caching system then you can move to these articles: Caching: What, when and how and Caching month view HTML in transients
Finally, there is a good article George put up here that groups a set of developer plugins. It’s a bit more technical than the others but will definitely be of help if you are into development.
Let me know how that goes and if you have other questions.
Best!

The things you’ve done so far to optimize the site seem great. I instantly noticed the speed increase for cached pages like the homepage and the main events page as well as several others.
Thank you. Yes, we have optimized the homepage, main events page and other pages.
Have you tried disabling everything except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro + switching to a default theme to see if it runs faster?
Yes, We have tried this too. We have deactivated all other events except Events calendar and Events calendar Pro with the default theme. But no help, still it is loading very slow and getting a response time issue about 12 – 15 secs.

And also please make sure that this issue should not exist in the production website. So kindly requesting you to check the production website too.
Thank you.
April 14, 2017 at 2:14 pm #1270279VictorKeymasterHi Gisela and Kannan!
Thank you for going through all the steps and letting us know about the results.
After all this optimization and tests you’ve done so far, we still come the conclusion that nothing about your site should be taking that long to load. So a better host would be the next step to make. We recommend you find something running PHP 7.x on a server with a few more resources than the current one.
FlyWheel, WP-Engine, Pantheon, A2 Web hosting were the ones suggested by the team. We cannot guarantee any but I’m sure you will see instant speed ups with WP-Engine. Probably 3 seconds or less on the heaviest of pages.
I really hope you can get your site up and running much faster with this change.
Please let us know if you have other questions about it.
Best!
