As you can see from below and looking at the URL above, the formatting on the list of events was lost. It was fine, but then it went haywire. When I look at the calendar and then click on the event, the formatting is fine. But when I look at the list of events, it is wrong. I have uninstalled the events Calendar and cleaned the cache but to no avail. I set up a new event CW-3, and I get the same messed up results. I need your help to fix this as my client needs to start selling tickets for this event this week!

    Hi Bill,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Can you point me to the page where you are seeing that event? I was unable to find any events on your calendar.

In the meantime, as a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    • A conflict with another plugin
    • A conflict with your WordPress theme
    • A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    • Make a backup of your database
    • Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

I had made these pages draft and created other pages without the calendar to show my client.

But I have restored them and you can see the issue in the above link. The link is on the main menu/Events.

I disabled all other plugins and that did not help. I changed the theme to

Twenty sixteen and that did not help. In both cases, I still got the same messed up page. But, in addition, when I changed the them all the formatting that I had with Veda went away and I had to redo the formatting when I changed back to Veda.

    Hi Bill,

It looks like the formatting that is showing is coming from your CSS stylesheet, is that correct?  Has the directory changed for that folder? Is this something that occurred after a plugin update or anything else that you can pinpoint?

Has the template that you use changed?  You can check out your stylesheets and page templates under Events > Display:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/stylesheets-and-page-templates/

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

The directory was not changed. And this did not occur after a plugin update. It just started to happen. First, only one of the events was messed up and then after a little while, both were messed up. Like it just started on its own.

The formatting is from the CSS stylesheet.

It looks like you fixed whatever it was that was causing the problem. Did you fix it and what was the exact cause so that If it happens again, I can fix it.

    Thank YOu !!

If it is fixed, let me know and I will mark this as resolved1

    Hi Bill,

It sounds like things are working again, is that correct?

We did not go in and fix anything, but perhaps an update or another change resolved the issue.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thanks,

    Jaime
