I have my events page set to display as a list by default. This shows the five upcoming events and I can’t seem to modify these settings. Our page regularly has more than five events per month, but if users hit “next events” at the bottom of the page, they are pushed ahead to the following month. So, in order to see the full list of events for the current month, they need to first go to the events page, then click “Next events” then, on the following page, click “Previous events”.

Is there any way to change how the list displays by default? It would be good to be able to display all events for the current month in list form, or, at least, if when users click “next events” if they don’t miss out on seeing the remaining events for the current month.

    Any tips?

    Hello Amy

First, please see our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?  I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.  Begin by deactivating all other plugins, using a theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/, and see if the issue still persists. Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard » Updates).

Then also check Settings » Reading » Blog pages show at most and change this number to a higher number. This will also impact the number of posts that would show on /blog.

Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

So, I followed these and no change so far. It appears that this is how the Events Calendar is designed to function. Unless I’m misunderstanding what the default function should be when List View is the default display for the Events page?

Allow me to re-iterate what I’m looking to do:

I want to know if there is a way for the default “list” view to display everything for the current month. That would resolve the problem that we are having.

    Hi Amy

Unfortunately there isn’t a simple way to do this. It looks like other’s have requested this feature as well at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/list-view-display-by-month/#post-1248602.

If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.

You can suggest it it http://tribe.uservoice.com.

As you can see, the solution provided isn’t complete. It would take some custom coding on your part to use what Cliff provided to make it work. That would exceed our Scope of Support / Terms.

Is there anything else I can help you with at this time?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
