Limit shortcode results to a Venue or Organizer

Hello,
I’d like to customize my Venue and Organizer single pages by adding a shortcode like this :
[tribe_events view="month" organizer="myorganizer1"] and [tribe_events view="month" venue="myvenue1"]
How may I set this up ?

Hi Adage!

In a similar vein to this other forum topic I’m sorry to say limiting by organizer or venue is not currently supported.

Please do feel free to post this as a further feature request (or up-vote any suitable existing requests).

It’s definitely possible to solve this in the short term with a customization of your own, but again this is something you’d largely need to drive forward under your own steam.

Thanks for reaching out!

Just as my esteemed colleague, Barry pointed it out, at the moment that is not a feature.

As a workaround you could use category for doing that. Create categories for the venues and organizers (e.g. venue-new-york, venue-boston, organizer-john, organizer-jerry, etc.) Obviously if you have a lot of events, venues, organizers that will be a bit time consuming. Nonetheless it is an option.

I understand there are a lot of hooks that allows to modify shortcodes ; what hooks or functions would you recommend me to look into more specifically to work that out ?

Also note, that you will need a good working knowledge of WordPress and WP_Query.
