ParticipantI’m trying to follow these instructions to input my license key for Pro.
I have TEC 3.10 and ECP 3.10.
I activated them on one sub-site and on the primary site.
On the main network site, I went to Events > Settings, but there is no Licenses tab. Please advise.

MemberHey A S,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the trouble here with the Licenses tab!
The tab can go missing for three possible reasons that I’ve seen:
- Different versions of the Modern Tribe plugins. You noted that both The Events Calendar and PRO are running 3.10. Will you please make sure that all other Modern Tribe plugins are running 3.10 as well.
- The release candidate of a plugin is being used. Just to be on the safe side, will you please re-download the The Events Calendar from WordPress.org and PRO from My Account here on this site — we had release an early version of 3.10 and I want to make sure you’re not running one of those inadvertently. And, of course, be sure to back up your files as you do this.
- Theme or plugin conflict. Try running through these troubleshooting steps so we can rule out any possible conflicts with your theme or any other installed plugin.
One other thing to note is that the Licenses area might not be the exact same on a multisite network as a normal installation. In these cases, the licenses might be in the General settings themselves (Events > Settings), so that’s worth checking as well.
Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantSomehow I got the License tab to show up.
I added the keys for Pro, FB, Filters and Community Events – but each is giving the error message:
“It looks like this license is being used on a multisite network. Please visit https://theeventscalendar.com/products/ to purchase a multisite license.”I am only using these plugins on one site of my multisite, so I don’t want/need a multisite license.
Does the error message mean I am not getting automatic updates?

ParticipantI was working off old information.
This article earlier had a final paragraph explaining that one can only view the License tab on the primary site.Seems like you recently changed the instructions?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/multisite-license/Now I can view the License tab on the subsite where I am actually using the plugins, but it’s still giving this error:
“It looks like this license is being used on a multisite network. Please visit https://theeventscalendar.com/products/ to purchase a multisite license.”July 12, 2015 at 5:11 am #985666Geoff
MemberHi A S,
I’m glad the tabs are showing up! The message you’re seeing is indeed because you are using the plugins on a multisite network. If you’re only going to use the plugin on a single site of the network, then try installing the plugins directly to that site instead of at the network level. You definitely don’t need to purchase a multisite license just to use the calendar on a single site. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
You wrote: “try installing the plugins directly to that site instead of at the network level”.
According to WP, that’s not possible:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Multisite_Network_Administration#Plugins
“All plugins are installed on the network dashboard’s plugin page, and can be activated per-site or for the entire network.”I activated the plugin per-site for one site only.
Does the error message mean I am not getting automatic updates?

MemberHi A S,
Sorry, didn’t mean to add to the confusion here!
You should still be receiving automatic updates in that case, despite the message. In fact, you can read more about how a Personal License can be used on a multisite network in this article.
Sorry again for the confusion and I hope this helps!
