ParticipantA couple questions:
1. Once my PRO license runs out in a year, I still get to use it, correct? I just won’t be able to get support or new updates?
2. Let’s say I don’t renew it after a year, then I wait until several new releases and THEN update, will that present problems jumping multiple versions ahead?

MemberHowdy Jonathan!
You absolutely get to continue using the plugin even after the license period is up. The code is all yours and the plugin will continue to do its thing.
That said, there is always a risk when updating other components of your site (including WordPress itself) and keeping other components (like Events Calendar PRO) static because there could be compatibility issues moving forward. However, if you’re always testing updates responsibly in a test environment, then you should be never be caught off guard.
2. Let’s say I don’t renew it after a year, then I wait until several new releases and THEN update, will that present problems jumping multiple versions ahead?
Again, there’s always a risk. We actively develop and maintain our plugins to ensure they are both complaint to the latest versions of WordPress but also added new and exciting features, and that can have an impact on past versions to the point where you may see a significant jump from a way past version. I’d say that’s generally true of any plugin, theme or even WordPress though.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantYes it does! Thank you!
Now even after my plugin expires, will I still receive notifications of new updates? If not, how do I keep up-to-date on when new updates are coming out?

MemberHey Jonathan,
Thanks for following up!
You will indeed continue to see an alert on the Plugins screen in the WordPress admin when an update is available for the plugins. However, you can always stay updated with what’s new either by following us on Twitter (we announce updates there) and our blog (we publish release notes there).
We also have a page dedicated to our releases, which includes the latest release notes:

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
