    Hi,

    Sorry for the issues here. In WordPress you are not able to overwrite an existing plugin. It first must be removed.

    Please follow these steps to manually update a plugin:

    1. Deaktived the old plugin
    2. Uploaded the dowloadede plugin
    3. Clicked aktive plugin

    Clicked on link:
    “To begin Using Events Calendar PRO, please install the latest version of The Events Calendar.” Clicked on install now

    Got the same error

    Installing plugins: The Events Calendar 3.12.6
    To begin Using Events Calendar PRO, please install the latest version of The Events Calendar.
    Retrieving installation package from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/the-events-calendar.3.12.6.zip…

    Extracts the package …

    Installing plugins …

    Hi,

    You did not delete the old plugin it is still there. So you can either active it or remove it.

    Please review this guide from WordPress to make sure it is being removed:

    In some way I got it to work
    I cheated a bit and deleted the plugin through FTP at the same time I installed plugin in wordpress
    Thanks for help and a super plugin
