The h2’s in the calendar line height have a weird line spacing, and if I look at reducing it it makes the text below have a weird alignment.

I would love to help you with this topic.I believe that what is going on is that the H2 are receiving the CSS rules from your theme (at least it looks like that).
You should be able to fully control that with the tribe-events-page-title CSS class.
