ParticipantHI Support
I have a problem that we have been unable to find a solution too and would appreciate some help please.
Our events calendar is working, and pulls from our Schools Google calendar. It updates once a day and imports new entries perfectly.
The issue we have is that if we change an EXISTING entry in the Google calendar, when the import runs, it does not update the Events Calendar.
Is there a setting or something I may have missed, or is this by design?
Please let me know and thank you in advance for any advice.
Kind regards

MemberHi Jason!
Thanks for getting in touch with us! Let me help you with this topic.
You might want to have a look at the Event Update Authority setting > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-aggregator-import-settings/#update-authority
This setting will let you select how changes are applied to the events when imported.
Does it help? Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

ParticipantHi Victor
Thanks for the info.
I can confirm our option selected is: Overwrite my event with any changes from the original source.
This does not seem to be working though, as even though source changes in the Google calendar are not propagating through.
Any other suggestions?
Many thanks

MemberHi Jason!
Thanks for following up with this.
Could you please share with us the gCal URL so we can run some tests on our end?
What specific changes are not being overwritten? is it the title, date, description? Please let me know.
When coming back, please share with us your system information by following this guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/. We’ll see if there is anything strange that would indicate an error from there.
Thanks,

MemberHi Jason!
Thanks for clearing that out and for coming back with all the information.
I run a few tests and the changes seem to update the events. I even set up a calendar of my own to test things out and it seems to work as expected.
Could you please confirm that you modified the existing event in the Google calendar? One thing to bear in mind is that if you deleted the event and created a new one, even with the same name and contents, it will change the event unique identifier, which is what Event Aggregator uses to compare with already imported events.
To test things out, you could create a test event in Google Calendar and import it. Then change the date or other data in the gCal and try re-importing again to see if it updates accordingly.
Please let me know about this.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Victor
I have just run some tests, and the importer is now not working at all, and while saying it runs successfully does not update the Event Calendar as expected.
We have decided to stop using Events calendar as we are not able to get consistent import results. I was asked to just use the default embedded Google calendar on our site, which while not as aesthetically pleasing as yours, gives us the reliability of knowing updates will display correctly.
Thanks for trying to help.
Kind regards
