Importing Events from Google Calendar

    We are importing events from Google Calendar. It appears that when an event is imported it creates a new venue each time. The venue it creates is not correct as it is putting the venue name and address into the Title field of the event. I have a feeling this has to do with the way the venue is entered into the Google Calendar. So what I am trying to figure out is:

    1) How do I prevent a duplicate venue from being added to The Event Calendar every time a new event is imported?
    2) How do I make sure the proper venue is selected when the event is imported?
    2) How should the venue be entered in to the Google Calendar so that it imports correctly?

    Also, the google map is not appearing on the event. I have checked the Enable Google Maps setting and I have entered a Google Maps API key. Events that I create within The Events Calendar have an embedded Google Map, but events that are imported do not. The “show google maps” checkbox is checked by default. I suspect this issues as to do with the one above.

    Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums! I’m really sorry about the issues you are experiencing when importing. Let me try to help you with that.

    the google map is not appearing on the event

    We have a similar issue logged but to make sure I would like you to check the following:

    Open the event you imported for editing. Are the boxes under Location section “Show Google Map” and “Show Google Maps Link” checked.

    As for the duplicate venue issue I will need a bit more information.

    • Please share with me your system information
    • Please share with me a URL that is causing the issue when importing
    • Would be great to have a screenshot of the event setup in google calendar that is not being imported correctly with the venue name
