Guest1) I manage a local guide and am currently using another plugin for my event calendar, but am looking for a solution for automatically importing facebook, eventbrite and meetup.com events in my neighborhood. Does your pro plugin offer an automatic event pul/importl from these sites?
2) if it does, how do I set up the categories for these events

MemberHola Jose,
Thanks for getting in touch! I can help you decide if our plugins are the right choice for your site 🙂
1) I manage a local guide and am currently using another plugin for my event calendar, but am looking for a solution for automatically importing facebook, eventbrite and meetup.com events in my neighborhood. Does your pro plugin offer an automatic event pul/importl from these sites?
Our Events Calendar PRO plugin doesn’t take care of importing events from other sites. But we have other add-ons to help you on this: Facebook Events, Eventbrite tickets and iCal importer (import ical feeds, can be used t import from meetup.com). The good news is we have a new plugin coming out really soon (a month time aprox) that combines different import types in one plugin: Event Aggregator.
2) if it does, how do I set up the categories for these events
Hopefully you’ll be able to set a category to each scheduled import you create!
Please let me know if the above answers your questions,

Guest1) is there an additional cost for each add on or is there a package price?
2) Im switching plugins by next week. Is there an option to use an early version of Event Aggregator. I saw you have a beta optionAugust 12, 2016 at 3:20 pm #1151161Nico
MemberThanks for following up Jose!
1) is there an additional cost for each add on or is there a package price?
We have some bundles you should check out! Other than that it’s the price you’ll find in each add-on page.
2) Im switching plugins by next week. Is there an option to use an early version of Event Aggregator. I saw you have a beta option
I’d say the best way to stay tuned to the beta announcement is to subscribe to updates using the form in this page → https://theeventscalendar.com/wordpress-event-aggregator/ . Although the beta will be available soon I wouldn’t recommend it’s use in the production website. Maybe you can wait a couple of more weeks?
Maybe you can try our current plugins iCal Importer & Facebook Events. You can ask for a refund of your purchase within 30 days, or when Event Aggregator is out.
Please let me know about it,
Best,

GuestThank you. I already subscribed for updates. I think I might do what you suggested, start with your current add-ons and switch to the aggregator. Btw:
1) how much is the aggregator going to be?
2) On my current site I have an events page and a specials page. Would i be able to do the following with your plugin: have all events except events with “happy hour” category listed on the “events page” and have only events with “happy hour” category listed on the “specials” page?August 12, 2016 at 4:11 pm #1151178Nico
MemberYou are welcome Jose!
1) how much is the aggregator going to be?
I don’t have that information right now, but I’ll ask our product manager and let you know on Monday.
2) On my current site I have an events page and a specials page. Would i be able to do the following with your plugin: have all events except events with “happy hour” category listed on the “events page” and have only events with “happy hour” category listed on the “specials” page?
Yes, the process will be to hi-jack the query to remove the “happy hour” category from main events view. Then you can have the specials link redirect to the happy hour category page, or use a PRO widget shortcode to include a widget filter by the “happy hour” category.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with,

Guest1) With the current plugin I have im able to have a venues (restaurants) page. Is there an option to have a venues page with your plugin
2) Im turning the site into a community site soon and was thinking of using buddypress. Does your plugin work with buddy press
3) i am going to add a voting/rating system to my site, would your plugin work well with that. Ex: option to add a star rating to individual events
4) LAstly, in regards to the happy hour page I had mentioned previously. Would i be able to layout the page by day tabs. ex: monday tab, tuesday tab etc like in http://www.hourdrinks.com/browse.php?neighborhood=62&borough=2&day=TuesdayAugust 15, 2016 at 3:53 pm #1151844Nico
MemberHey Jose,
Thanks for the follow-up!
The price structure of Event Aggregator is still not 100% defined, but most probably it will be inline with other plugins price. We will have to wait until the final prices are set in the upcoming weeks!
1) With the current plugin I have im able to have a venues (restaurants) page. Is there an option to have a venues page with your plugin
Yes, Events Calendar PRO creates a Venues page, and single venue pages.
2) Im turning the site into a community site soon and was thinking of using buddypress. Does your plugin work with buddy press
There’s no special integration with BuddyPress in our plugin, but there are no know conflicts as well. Check out this third party plugin, I personally haven’t tried it out or herd comments about it → https://shop.opentuteplus.com/product/buddypress-events-calendar-plugin/
3) i am going to add a voting/rating system to my site, would your plugin work well with that. Ex: option to add a star rating to individual events
Well, that’s something that you need to try out. I guess there will be no trouble with that.
4) LAstly, in regards to the happy hour page I had mentioned previously. Would i be able to layout the page by day tabs. ex: monday tab, tuesday tab etc like in http://www.hourdrinks.com/browse.php?neighborhood=62&borough=2&day=Tuesday
I guess it’s possible to custom code a view like the one you show. Day view is pretty similar, but doesn’t have the name of the week day’s navigation. We can help you getting started with this customization in the premium forums.
Please let me know if you still have questions,

GuestThank you for all the information. Its helped me to choose you over the other options. Right now im just trying to make sure you guys could give me the other features my current plugin does. I think the only way to really find is out is by trying it out and seeing what t could do. Final questions in regard to this:
1) You had mentioned a 30 refund policy. Is this a full refund?
2) When you purchase premium products is the support the same. A support forum?
3) for this “Yes, Events Calendar PRO creates a Venues page, and single venue pages” – would i be able to use this for the venues page as well. With different filter options. ex: something like the following but simplified: http://nymag.com/srch?t=restaurant&N=265+1250&No=0&Ns=nyml_sort_name%7C0Thank you again. I think I found our new plugin

MemberYou are welcome Jose! We are here to help 🙂
1) You had mentioned a 30 refund policy. Is this a full refund?
Yeap, check the refund policy and let me know if you have any doubts.
2) When you purchase premium products is the support the same. A support forum?
Yes, basically the same experience as this forum. We have a premium forum for each premium plugin → https://theeventscalendar.com/support-forums/
3) for this “Yes, Events Calendar PRO creates a Venues page, and single venue pages” – would i be able to use this for the venues page as well. With different filter options. ex: something like the following but simplified: http://nymag.com/srch?t=restaurant&N=265+1250&No=0&Ns=nyml_sort_name%7C0
Re-checking the information I previously sent you’ll actually need a snippet to enable the archives, take a look at this thread on the subject. There are no filtering options, just a listing using the default archive template. Again something you could custom code maybe by adding a custom taxonomy to venues, ‘Venues category’ for example.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with,

MemberPerfect, thx. Btw, what would the url be for the venue listings page
You can define that when yo enable the archive, so that’s up to you 🙂
Any other question?

Guest1) I was about to purchase the event calendar pro edition and facebook importer this weekend to make sure it was a good option for me to switch to from my current events plugin, but I found out a colleague of mine had it and it gave me a chance to try some event upload options to see how it worked before i purchased it. I couldn’t find some solutions to a few event options i need. Wanted to touch base with you in case there was a way of doing it that i didn’t see in the control panel:
A) [DAILY EVENTS WITH DIFFERENT TIMES IN THE WEEKENDS]
– We promote art exhibits at galleries that take place daily but different times on the weekend
B) [AN EVENT THAT TAKES PLACE THE 1ST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH]
C) [SCATTERED EVENT] Example: There’s a play we are working with that takes place Sept 15th at 3pm, Sept 20th at 1pm and Sept 23rd at 4pm. Is this doable with your plugin2) Is there a way to have the “featured image” for the facebook event be the rectanguar cover image for the facebook event page instead of the regular image. The regular image comes in so many different sizes and it doesnt make the page look good
Thank you

MemberHi there Jose,
Glad to hear you could try out our plugins 🙂
Ok, so first questions about recurrence patterns (check out our knowledge base article on this):
A) [DAILY EVENTS WITH DIFFERENT TIMES IN THE WEEKENDS]
Sure, instead of setting a daily recurrence patter you should generate two different weekly patterns → https://cloudup.com/cjejWk_Wjsg
B) [AN EVENT THAT TAKES PLACE THE 1ST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH]
It’s possible with a custom monthly recurrence pattern → https://cloudup.com/ctxR7vzhKku
C) [SCATTERED EVENT]
Yes, you can achieve this by using the ‘date’ recurring option: “The Date option allows you to add a specific day for the event to reoccur. This is a useful option if your recurring event has an irregular schedule, or has a few random dates in addition to a broader pattern.”
2) Is there a way to have the “featured image” for the facebook event be the rectanguar cover image for the facebook event page instead of the regular image. The regular image comes in so many different sizes and it doesnt make the page look good
I guess not, but to have all images in the same size you can change the featured image size parameter in the events template. The default size parameter is ‘full’ which as you say is the original size, but you can change that to a pre-set image size (post thumbnails sizes) or define your own (add new post thumbnail sizes).
Hope that helps,
Best,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
