Michael
ParticipantHi
I am importing date with the handy UTF-8 converter and us-ascii format.
I have one file that has all the info in it.. including venue city, state and Zip.
I import the same data in Venue import first then I do the Event import – same file.
(I dont have any info on organizer to import)When I go back to check on the data, it does not get loaded into the Venue boxed nor does the Venue Name or event name get in? I can only think I am not uploading it correctly..??

MemberHowdy Michael,
Welcome to our support forums and thanks for reaching out to us. I’ll help you here…
I imported the CSV you attached first for venues and then for events. I’ve mapped the fields accordingly (I didn’t create or mapped the additional fields though) and the venue name is showing up correctly. Take a look at the configuration I used for the import:
- Venues column mapping: https://cloudup.com/cThQnlS30aq
- Events column mapping: https://cloudup.com/cf1CSBIpnv2
Please give that a try and let me know if it works for you!

MemberHey Mike,
Sorry to hear about this issue 🙁
Not sure about it. Have you deleted all venues and now are importing again? If so make sure to empty the trash and delete them completely. Have you edited the file? Re-downloading the fiel in the link from this thread might be a good idea, it worked like a charm for me!
This doesn’t sound like a conflict, but can you please follow the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide? This way we can see if this is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins.
Please let me know about it,
Have a great weekend,

MemberHi Michael,
Thanks for following up and sorry to hear this is still an issue 🙁
Did you follow the field mapping I sent? I guess the error might be there, because clearly what you are getting is not right. Maybe the encoding is an issue? I see that less likely to be the cause, you mention UTF-8 converter and us-ascii format, Can you elaborate the encoding done if any?
Stepping back a bit… Are you using latest versions of the plugins? WordPress version?
Please let me know about it,
Best,

MemberHi Michael,
Thanks for the patience here! We could finally identify the bug affecting the CSV importer, which indeed is related to the WordPress update 4.5.
A fix for this is already under QA and will be included in the upcoming maintenance release 4.1.3 coming out next week. If this is critical for your project, you can downgrade WordPress to version 4.4.x until the fix for this is released.
I’ve set this thread to ‘Pending Fix’ status and also attached it to our internal ticket for this bug. When the fix gets released we will let you know about it.
Have a great weekend,
