Hi TEC team,
I just installed the PRO calendar on a client’s site and am trying to upload a .csv file of events. The importer says that all events have been imported, but when I check the event list they are not there. There were six events to start. I am trying to upload 12. Let me know if you need screen captures.I have your free calendar on another client’s site and love it! I really want it to work on this client’s site as well.
October 29, 2015 at 12:39 pm #1020000BrianKeymasterHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help troubleshoot them with you.
Are the events showing in the admin? Or not there or the front end?
What is the message you get after importing?
And do you follow the same formatting we have in our examples:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/
Let me know and we can go from here.
Thanks

No the events are not showing in the admin or on the front end. The message I get after importing is that they all have been imported successfully.
Yes I double and triple checked that the formatting is correct.
Thanks!October 29, 2015 at 1:25 pm #1020024BrianKeymasterHow strange.
I have not run into this before.
Can you please follow our testing for conflicts guide:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
And see if that can narrow down the cause of this.
Thanks

I followed all of the steps and still did not have any luck. Can I also ask where I can find the events in the Database (table names etc.)?Are there any other troubleshooting steps that you can think of?
October 30, 2015 at 5:12 am #1020190BrianKeymasterHi,
The events are all stored in the Posts Table.
The default is wp_posts, but it could have a different prefix of wp_ in your site.
I do not have any other steps right now for this.
Can you provide screen shot of the success message you get and also the event list?
Thanks

The six events that you see were added manually. Manual addition works. I think my next step is to remove the plugin and start over. Maybe it was a bad install?
October 30, 2015 at 11:22 am #1020349BrianKeymasterHow strange.
You could try reinstalling the plugin and seeing if that helps.
Could you also provide a link in a private reply to the spreadsheet and I will see if I can get it to work.
Thanks

November 2, 2015 at 6:52 am #1020747BrianKeymasterHi,
Thanks for providing the information.
I was able to figure out the problem.
Since the list is comma delimited you cannot use commas in the Title and Description Fields as that is a break for the importer to go to the next field.
Many of your titles include a comma and they need to be removed.
Instead use the html symbol for commas: ,
You can continue to use commas to separate categories and tags though.
If you make those changes. Does it work then?
November 2, 2015 at 2:59 pm #1021002Melanie DePaoliParticipantHi Brian,
That fixed all but three events. I also discovered that it doesn’t like dashes in the event name “-“.
In the link I already sent you I shared the updated document with the events it still will not upload. I did double check category titles and venue titles as well.
Thank you for all of your help!November 3, 2015 at 7:34 am #1021260BrianKeymasterHi,
It looks like it does not like the Event Description Content.
I am not sure what html tags it does not like, but removing that field and importing and then adding the content to the editor might be the easiest way to get this done.
Thanks
