Your import is currently in progress. Don’t worry, you can safely navigate away–the import will continue in the background.

I have manual event imports in que. It doesn’t seem to move beyond this. How can I stop this process. This seems to have started since the last update. Each event I try to import gets stuck. In the history tab, it shows the clock and everything in que. I’ve only used 17 of my 100 imports. Updated all plug ins etc.

I have been using the Other URL beta method to import. Has always until now.

    Hi Brad,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Can you provide me with the URL that you are trying to import, so that I can do some testing on my end?

Also, can you enable and check the Event Log under Events < Help to see if you see anything unusual?

Right under that is your Event Aggregator Status. Can you take a screenshot of what you see there?

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Jaime,

Thanks for the reply. I’ve included a link to my Box.com account where you
will find the screen shot of the current status. Also, the
url that’s causing the issue. I’ve imported since this started using an
    eventbrite url with no issues.

The URL I’m trying to import is:
    https://downtownvictoria.ca/events/#?date=2018-05-22

Screenshot of Import status that is hung up since Saturday is:
    https://app.box.com/s/n2rt9xmu636i1v49c4rt8vih9dj31en3

Let me know if this is helpful.

    Hi Brad,

Thanks for providing me with that information.

I was able to import the events from the URL that you provided without issue.  It could be that since you have so many events to import, that it takes a long time or gets stuck in the process.

Does it work if you select a few events at a time to import?

If not, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    • A conflict with another plugin
    • A conflict with your WordPress theme
    • A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    • Make a backup of your database
    • Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime
