I have a community event calendar that we’re updating, it currently uses Event Manager plugin. We’re looking for a better solution.
    1. I believe I need The Events Calendar Pro and Community to allow users to register, add/edit their events, add categories, allow them to search via category, and allow them to add recurring events. Does this sound correct?
    2. I need to import Event Manager users and events into your new plugin. How well does that integrate?

    Here’s my development site: http://sandbox.davidsoncommunitycalendar.org

    Thank you.

    Hi Christine,

Thanks so much for reaching out! We’re thrilled to hear that you’re considering making the move to our plugins, and I’d be more than glad to help with your questions here. 🙂

    1. You’ve got it exactly right, yes! Our free core plugin The Events Calendar will add basic event creation and management capabilities; adding Events Calendar PRO on to this will activate a number of additional features, including support for recurring events. Community Events will then allow you to open up these event creation features to your site visitors. Of note: only registered users are able to log in and edit/delete their own events after submission, so you’ll want to make sure that your users have the ability to register on your site. For more information on Community Events settings, check out our Knowledgebase article here.
    2. Great question! Both free and premium users of our plugins can import data in CSV format into The Events Calendar. Supported data types include events, venues, organizers, RSVPs, tickets, and Events Calendar PRO Additional Fields. We’ve provided a walkthrough of the CSV import process here:

      https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/importing-data-from-a-csv-file/

You may also wish to refer to our CSV file examples post, which contains a breakdown of available fields for importing and downloadable templates for creating your CSV files.

I hope that helps to get you started here! Thanks again, and let us know if you should have any other questions!

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
