    Hi –

I’m trying to build a calendar for a school.

The calendar data is now in a SQL Server database and excel. What are the abilities to import events and info into the front-end calendar?

How smart is the import? I.e. we have a year’s worth of data/events in excel/db which is fairly complex. It contains for example, what is happening on each day at certain times, what event lasts a few days, day headers (such as signify holidays etc.).

I guess my question in short is: what calendar properties available in the front-end are importable or can pull from a database?

We want to generate our events one year in advance using our back-end program then import those events/data into your program.

    Thanks,
    Izzy

    Hi there Izzy,

Thanks for getting in touch with us and for your interest in our plugins 🙂

I guess my question in short is: what calendar properties available in the front-end are importable or can pull from a database?

From what you describe I guess the best method would be to import events via CSV. This article goes over the process of doing so → Importing Data from a CSV File and this other one gives you an overview of the available fields for import → CSV file examples for importing

We also have a service, Event Aggregator that let’s you import events in iCal format if that works better for you. Again, from what you describe probably generating a CSV file is better!

Please let me know if there’s anything else I cna help you with,
    Best,
    Nico
