Hi There – I’m new to The Events Calendar and am trying to understand a difference and capability.
I’m looking for user to be able to click on a link in the event that will add it to the calendar, just the event, not an entire calendar.
The +GOOGLE CALENDAR seems to work, but the +ICAL EXPORT seems to add a calendar to Outlook rather than just the event.
Possible?
Thanks, David
March 26, 2018 at 2:46 pm #1488999CliffMemberHi, David. Thanks for your interest in our plugin suite.
.ics files are able to be read by any calendar application.
Event archive pages (e.g. https://wpshindig.com/events/) have an iCal URL export (.ics file with many events).
Single event pages (e.g. https://wpshindig.com/event/learn-and-work-together/) have both Google Calendar and .ics export.
How each calendar application handles .ics files is up to them.
None of this differs between the free The Events Calendar and its paid add-ons.
I hope this information helps.

DavidMarch 27, 2018 at 1:52 pm #1490061CliffMemberWe do have a known issue with importing to Outlook because Outlook has a custom set of time zones.
We have plans to implement https://github.com/sabre-io/vobject to support Outlook — and, if appropriate, add a 3rd export button specific to Outlook Export.
I have set this thread to be updated once this solution is available.
