    Hi,

This is a follow up to a previous post from another user regarding feeding events to a mobile application. The app requests an ICS feed, which I understand can be exported based upon view. However that export would seem to be static, correct? So once it’s ingested into the app and a new event is created on the site, it’s outdated. Does Events Calendar (or Pro, etc.) provide for any type of dynamic ICS output/update or would an RSS-style feed format be the only option? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ray and good question!

You’re right–there is an iCal address for The Events Calendar right out of the box, but the data in it is static to the extent that it is not pushing updating information out to calendars that subscribe to it. RSS is likely your best bet for the time being as far as communication from The Events Calendar to another calendar, whereas our iCal Importer is great for the other way around: another calendar into The Events Calendar.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
