Do any of your Event Calendar packages also include the iCal importer as a part of their subscription cost, or is it extra?

We will also need to create multiple calendars on our single site, each dedicated to specific type of events and we have two separate internal calendars to track this information, so we will be publishing two separate calendars that need to be synched to their calendars on our WP site.

Can the iCal importer plugin handle that? If so, is there a cost difference if you choose to synch more than one source?

Lastly, I have read many issues with a breakage in the iCal importer and Office 365 due to a time zone standard change from Microsoft. You indicated in another post that this fix is three weeks down the road, which may be too long for our requirement. Any ETA on that fix?

Hi Randy. Thanks for inquiring about our iCal Importer plugin. It’s a separate purchase unless you purchase one of our Bundles.

For “separate calendars”, we just create one master calendar, but you could essentially pull off separate calendars by using Event Categories. For example, the Month View would include all events, but the Month View of the “Birthday Parties” category would be like having multiple different calendars.

Each iCal Importer feed can be setup to publish events to a specific category.

Regarding the Office 365 import issue, the fix is currently scheduled to be released within about 2 weeks, but I cannot provide any guarantees.

Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Thanks for your response. I may not have been clear on the multiple calendars question, but I do understand the concept of one master data set (calendaring info) which then can be granulated via different views.

My general question is that if we needed separate calendars, each one appearing on a different page of our site, is that possible with your product. Each page has a distinct audience, thus the need to segregate the calendar info directed at that particular group. So not just one calendar, capable of being presented by different views, but literally different calendars existing on multiple pages, each with their own specific modified view.

Is that possible within The Events Calendar?

    Thank you for your time.

I believe the native way to pull this off would be by using the Category or Tag functionality.

Here’s an example of the view of our demo site’s “Learning category”: http://wpshindig.com/events/category/learning/

Now, if you wanted to display Learning category events at yoursite.com/programs/custom-url/, you could use one of our PRO plugin’s widgets or shortcodes and limit by the Learning category.

However, the shortcode and widget views are NOT duplicate views (i.e. look the exact same) as of the native category view (e.g. http://wpshindig.com/events/category/learning/ )

    I hope this helps!
