We want to auto import all events from: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/meetings%40social-zebras.com/public/basic.ics

    Watch the video: https://youtu.be/RfDUis9Tc3Q

I spent hours on this, without any solution..

    Hey Stefan,

Thanks for re-opening the conversation and sorry to hear you are still in troubles with our plugin ๐Ÿ™

I was trying this out and the feed is actually unreachable: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/meetings%40social-zebras.com/public/basic.ics – when I try that URL in the browser it’s returning an error and not the actual feed. Can you check on it?

Anyway, I think the best would be for you to try Events Aggregator (release candidate 4 – final version coming out real soon), I just made sure you had a valid license for it. Here’s how you can set it up:

    • First of all download The Events Calendar 4.3 from ‘My Account > Downloads > Early Access’.
    • Delete the ‘the-events-calendar’ folder from your plugins directory (‘wp-content/plugins/’) and un-zip the download in the directory.
    • Activate The Events Calendar 4.3, and input the Events Aggregator license in ‘WP-Admin > Events > Settings > License Keys’.
    • Go to ‘WP-Admin > Events > Import’, from here it’s pretty similar to how iCal Importer works.

Please let me know about the feed URL and I’ll try to import it in my test site with Events Aggregator.

    Thanks,
    Nico

I was unfortunately not able to do that with FTP, since only one guy of us has access to FTP and he had no time in the last days to do it.

Now I realized the plugin is available official.

I updated, added the license key and like the plugin said, I wanted to deactivate the iCal addon, since the events aggregator takes the job.

Now I cannot access the wordpress site anymore, the whole site is blocked..

    What can I do?

    Welcome, Zebra!

This error shows up for all page visitors now:
Fatal error: Class ‘Tribe__Events__Ical_Importer__Main’ not found in /home/httpd/vhosts/aemer.ch/social-zebras.com/wp-content/themes/generatepress/functions.php on line 746

And the worst thing is, we just started a big marketing campaign for an event, which infos are all on our now blocked website..

Ok, we were able to fix the error and the aggregator plugin works.

The iCal import still didn’t work, but I found the problem.

Before the imported calendar was called “Social Zebras Meetings” in Google Calendar,
now I changed it to “Meetings” in the Google Calendar and finally it works.

So it seems to be the space between the words or a too long name..

But Still, if I change the name or information in an event in the Google Calendar,
it doesn’t update the informations in the Events Calendar on wordpress! Which is still usless for us.

Also in the image bellow there is a bug in the events overview.. Why are the titelfields so short?

    Thanks for following up Stefan!

I’m glad you could work that issue out. It seems and outdated snippet got in the way there! Also great finding in the name staff it’s a bit weird and not sure what was going wrong with the previous name but stocked to heat it works now ๐Ÿ™‚

it doesnโ€™t update the informations in the Events Calendar on wordpress! Which is still usless for us.

Have you set up this import as ‘Scheduled’ so it runs on a given frequency? When the next pass is done it should update the previously imported event details.

Also in the image bellow there is a bug in the events overview.. Why are the titelfields so short?

Well this seems to be happening because there’s no room for all columns. Under screen options you can choose which columns are shown: https://cloudup.com/cPkatBRE8VK – unchecking a couple of them should make it right!

    Best,
    Nico

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
