Hello,
I just bought the iCal importer plugin,
to make the work of my event manager more easy,
but unfortunately it doesn’t work as it should for us.Setup:
We created a Google Calendar which we import via iCal to The Events Calendar.
The timezone of the Googe Calendar is in Zürich Switzerland.
The timezone of wordpress is also in Zurich Switzerland.
My event manager creates our events on his android phone in the google calendar.
The events show up with the right times and updated in Google Calendar (in the webbrowser).
Import all 30 min.He was setting up first a Test event, to test the function of the addon.
Title: “Test meeting social zebras” Time: “18:45 – 21:00”After the event showed up, he was adding all our events, plus he updated the test event with the new title.
Unfortunately, the iCal importer didn’t see the change in the event information and didn’t update the event.
So in our case it would be useless. My suggestion: As long the event is in the future, it should check if there is some change in the event information, like title, description, time, location etc.
Additional to this we figured out, that all the events are showing up with the time “02:00 – 21:00” instead of “18:45 – 21:00”,
so it cannot be a time zone problem, or just at the starting time?!Please fix this time bug and add a updating future to the addon.
The calendar url is:
http://social-zebras.com/event/
–> I was creating manually now a new event with the right title (which should be not the solution).
The displaying of the new event is still wrong.August 22, 2016 at 12:36 am #1154261StefanParticipant+ I don’t know yet, if the event information update also doesn’t work with the Facebook importer, which we also use?
If this is the case, we need here also a updating solution. Because the topics of the meetings can change or we inform in the title and description if a event gets canceled.August 22, 2016 at 12:39 am #1154263StefanParticipantBtw, the time information of the Facebook import is right. Just the iCal import has problems with the starting time.

August 23, 2016 at 2:47 pm #1155051StefanParticipantget now always the “No iCal data was found at this URL.” error..
already before and now after the downgrade. :/
August 23, 2016 at 3:11 pm #1155061StefanParticipantOk that is very strange..
Since I deleted the iCal and wanted to add it again and it didn’t work,
I figured out it was able to still add NEW events from the .ics file,
if I download it and upload it as .ics import. This means, EVEN when I have in future events in my Google Calendar, which I deleted on my The Events Calendar calendar and want to add them again, they won’t show up in the import. Only the events show up, which the plugin never saw.. So where are this imports saved? Which database? And how can I reset this database?

August 23, 2016 at 4:16 pm #1155113StefanParticipantCan you recommend a iCal Calendar which works for sure? We could also switch to that.
The only important thing for us is, to be able to create the events on a smartphone,
therefore we use Google Calendar, since you can use iCal to subscribe it.
But if there is another service which is compatible, let me know!August 25, 2016 at 11:16 am #1155964NicoMemberThis reply is private.
August 30, 2016 at 1:53 pm #1157813StefanParticipantNope, it’s still not working…
I was just able to download my ics file and upload it,
so only do a manually import which is useless in my case.
But the time of the events of the ics import with the Version 4.2.3 is right. At least. The Aggregator is great, but I cannot invest even more into this new plugin, after I bought already a not working iCal importer Plugin and Facebook events importer which also doesn’t work perfect. :/ So what is your solution now in this case to make our site work?
