MemberHi, Björn. Sorry you’re experiencing this.
I added your report to our existing bug ticket and marked this thread as Pending Fix, which means it should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.
I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.
The immediate workaround solution would be to manually update the plugins: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/

ParticipantHi Patricia,
I followed the instructions Cliff gave me and the problem was solved for this time. If it comes back in the next update… I will let you know!
Thanks for your help!

MemberHi Bjorn,
We are reaching out to customers who had this issue (the cURL 61 error) because our development team is working to find a final solution: we’ve been recommending everyone to manually update the plugin in the forums as a workaround, but unfortunately it doesn’t change the fact that the issue persists and we believe you won’t be able to update the plugin via Dashboard once a new version is released because of this same error.
The only thing we know right now is that it’s affecting users with a recent version of cURL and I would like to confirm if you are running this same version.
If you could send us this information that would be great! If you don’t want to install that plugin I mentioned in my previous reply, you can simply check this info with your hosting provider or temporarily add a dummy file in the root of your site (something like test.php) and add the following lines inside it:
<?php
phpinfo();Then you can access it in your browser (via yoursite.com/test.php) and check the cURL version via PHP.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Patricia

MemberHey,
Good news! We have fixed this issue in our plugin updates server. No software update is required for the fix to be applied, plugin updates should just work fine now 🙂
Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help,
Best,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
