I have not been able to add any new events to my calendar. Instead, I have this box, that I’ve never seen before, show up in it’s place. I am unable to enter any information in those boxes either.

I have deleted a few thousand events over the course of the day. I have uninstalled plug ins. I have deleted the cache several times and yet I am still unable to enter or publish any new events.

    Hello Jennifer

Can you start by going through our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?ย  I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.ย

We recommend conducting these tests on a staging server (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-using-wordpress-staging-site/).

Begin by deactivating all other plugins, using a theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/, and see if the issue still persists.

Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard ยป Updates).ย

Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.

    Thanks

I have not changed anything in my theme and I have been deactivating plug
ins. Before I spend another 2 days deactivating and reactivating plugins,
that may or may not work can you please answer this question? For a website
that is nearly 200MB and is trying to use your plug in and the pro add ons
for 8,000-10,000 events, what kind of resources should I have allocated to
my website in terms of RAM, CPU, etc? I generate about 100,000 unique views
    a month and 200,000-300,000 pageviews.

    Thank you

I am trying to test the Event Calendar Pro on the testing site but
unfortunately it says I am out of installs to do that. It also states the
    my license key is invalid.

The calendar works on the testing/staging site with everything as it’s always been on my site. Yet, it does not work on my live site. My database on my staging site is 330 MB and on my LIVE site I’ve reduced it down to 200 MB but the calendar still does not work.

    Hi Jennifer

Those performance stats should very much be well within your expected limits. Can you look for Javascript errors on the editor page? Using Your Browser to Diagnose JavaScript Errors. With it working on staging and not on live, something is definitely off.

Let me know what you find there.

    Thanks

When I run that diagnostic it says there are 34 errors. I can not seem to screen shot that listing of errors. I also don’t have the knowledge to understand what any of those error codes/messages mean. However, the longer that I am on that page the more error codes that are generated.

    Hi Jennifer

The errors could be caused by a number of things. It would be good to start by disabling all plugins and go to a default theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/. Check if the errors display at that time.

Then turn each plugin on one at a time to see if the errors appear. Finally revert back to your theme and check again.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks

    Hi Jenn,

Thanks again for your patience while we worked through this.

Just to close the circle and keep this topic in sync with our email exchange, it turned out that the problems were, essentially, triggered by caching issues.

It seemed that you had integrated your site with the CloudFlare platform and a strange side-effect of this was that – even though our plugins were up-to-date on your server – CloudFlare was supplying you (and some other users) with a cached version of various Javascript files which were several versions out-of-date.

Now that this has been resolved I’ll go ahead and close out this topic, however please don’t hesitate to post new topics if needed should we be able to assist with anything else ๐Ÿ™‚
