ParticipantHi. I currently use Community Events through a WP multi-site and just purchased The Events Calendar PRO but received no instructions on how to transition my calendars onto the PRO format while retaining all my pre-scheduled imports (through aggregator) etc. Please help. – Mike P.S. The system import info below is just for one of my subsites, patchogue.greaterlongisland.com ..

KeymasterHi Michael,
Thanks for upgrading to Pro! The good news is that you do not need to do anything to transition your current events/calendar over to Pro. You now have access to additional features, like recurring events, custom fields, additional views (photo, week, and map), etc., but your events still function the same way they did before. I would recommend taking a look at our New User Primer for Pro, which has some great information on getting set up with the plugin.
Your imports and community submission form will still work the same way as well. If you run into any issues or have any questions on how to use any of the Pro features, please let me know!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHi Jennifer! I’m afraid it’s not that easy. First, I have a multisite that
includes four subsites and one portal site, so I’m not sure how to pick
which three will be upgraded to PRO. And as of now it looks like none have
been upgraded.I know this because I tried to create an event and there was no option
recurring events, which was why I upgraded.Hope you can help. And, happy holidays. Mike

KeymasterHi Michael,
Thanks for following up, I hope you enjoyed the holidays!
Since you are not using the multisite license, you will need to activate Pro on each of the three subsites you want to use it on.Ā To “network activate” the plugin, you would need the multisite license instead of the business license, but if you are only using Pro on 3 subsites, then the business license will work.
Once the plugin is activated, you will see the “Schedule multiple events” button appear on the event edit screen, allowing you to create recurring events. Let me know if this helps!
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantThanks so much and the holidays were nice and relaxing. OK, so how do I activate pro? I went into the plugin page in my Network Admin and this is all I saw:

KeymasterHi Michael,
I’m sorry for the delayed response here! Your thread wasn’t listed as waiting, and it slipped through the cracks. š So sorry about that!
It sounds like you may not have installed Events Calendar Pro on your main site yet, is that correct? If so, you will need to install it, but not “Network activate” it. Once it’s installed on your main site, you can go to the individual subsites that you want to use it on and activate it there under the Plugins section on each subsite. In order to do this, you may need to check “Plugins” in the “Enable administration menus” setting under Settings > Network Settings on your main site.
If you have not downloaded Pro already, you can do so here.
Apologies again for the delay, but please let me know if this works!

ParticipantLooks like that worked! What do you think? CLICK: https://patchogue.greaterlongisland.com/events/community/add
Can we keep this ticket open for a few days though because I want to beta test. I just switched an every Wednesday event that was clogging up the calendar because the people entered it as running from like Jan. 1 through March 1 and there’s some weirdness.

ParticipantOH, and while I have you! When I share the link to my calendar on Facebook, this is the headline, which is pretty lame: Events Archive – GreaterPatchogue – greaterlongisland.com
Is there anyway to to make it read The GreaterPatchogue Calendar? Or whatever. I just want to change it from that. Try putting this link into a FB status update and you’ll see: https://patchogue.greaterlongisland.com/events/
Thanks for the help! And no problem about the delay. MIke

KeymasterHi Mike,
I’m glad you got the multisite issue worked out!
I tested out the link in Facebook, and it looks like it’s using the HTML page title. We have a snippet that you can add to change the title for any of the events views, including single events.
If you want it to display theĀ eventĀ title, perhaps in addition to the site name, you could use the tribe_events_title function to set $title for the single event view like this:
$title = 'Site name' . tribe_events_title();Can you give this a try and see if it works for you?
Also, were you able to get the issue worked out with the recurring events?
