    Hi, All

Maybe if I explain my problem it would help someone guide me as to what to do.
(I’m fairly new to the Magical domain of Word Press – so forgive my apparent ignorance )
I’m trying to use the Event Tickets Plus Plugin with WP and WPEC.
I have purchased the Event Tickets Plus Plugin and sort of
expected that the product would function somewhat as follows:

    1) I could identify a specific event – in my event calendar – set it up with an event ticket

    THEN
    2) In WPEC this (the Event) would appear (or maybe, I need somehow to make the link to the above event)
as a Product which people could then purchase in the normal way using the WPEC interfaces.

I have managed to set up the Event ticket (item 1 above) but I cannot see how WPEC integrates in
    anyway whatsoever with that event.

I have spent hours trawling around your Forums, nothing seems to indicate the link between
    your plugin and WPEC.

Can you help? – happy to make the effort to make it work – but I’m beflummoxed!

    Cheers

Hi Roger. Welcome to magical WordPress and Modern Tribe’s plugins for it 🙂

I see you’ve purchased Event Tickets Plus, our paid add-on plugin that upgrades the functionality of our free Event Tickets plugin.

Event Tickets Plus enables you to sell tickets via one of our supported eCommerce platforms. The free plugin only enables free RSVP-type tickets.

If I’m not mistaken, you’re using WP eCommerce plugin, which Event Tickets Plus supports. (If of interest, you can view our roundup/comparison of all the eCommerce plugins ET+ supports.)

To answer your main question, our plugin uses your eCommerce plugin, but your eCommerce plugin isn’t displayed for shopping pages. Please reference our Making Tickets KB article (screenshots are for WooCommerce but should still be relevant) for an idea how to setup tickets.

Site visitors would purchase tickets from each event’s single page/view (e.g. example.com/events/rogers-day-at-the-zoo/).

I hope this info helps. Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Thanks, Cliff, for your prompt reply, however, I have set up the tickets, as you described – no problem, BUT
how do customers ACTUALLy buy them once they’re set up. I can see nothing in WPEC which refers to these tickets.
Where does the customer go to ticket access the ticket purchasing options on the Website?
It’s not in the shop, it’s not under events, it’s not in products.
    Thanks.

(Make sure ticket start/end sale dates apply to today and that there’s a quantity available to purchase.)

Please send me a link to or screenshot of a single event with a WPEC ticket (front-end visitor view and wp-admin view) so I can help.

    Hi, Cliff,

    Thanks again for swift reply.
    I think I’ve cracked it!
The Ticket is entered as a PRODUCT in WPEC – is that correct?

I’ve still got a minor irk – it keeps saying product price is $00
Please keep this query open for a bit longer –
I’ll let you know how I go.

In the meantime – thanks for your kind cooperation so far.

    Cheers
    Roger

Well, I give up – you win – I’ve spent most of today trying to work it out BUT – for the life of me – I simply cannot fathom how a Ticket gets into WPEC.
My reasoning – which may be completely wrong is that
    1) I find an event that I want to have tickets for
    2) I edit this so that it has tickets set up in it {tick the box that says WPEC} (this part – sort of works – but doesn’t register the ticket price properly – but that’s just a side issue)
    3) I save it. Now – where does that even/ticket go? – how does it get associated with WPEC.
I would expect -that if I go to the Shop – there’s be an item in there which referred to the ticket I’d just set up.
    4) From there a prospective customer can choose which ticket option they want, and then purchase it, just like a normal product.

If you like I can give you admin access to this test website – there’s nothing of any value in it.

    Cheers
    Roger

Hi Roger. Thanks for your testing.

I just tested it and it seems to work fine (assuming your WPEC payment gateways are setup correctly). Please watch this walk-through video: http://cl.ly/3S1L3D0L073h

Note: a common “whoops” is not setting Stock or setting the sale/availability dates in a way that makes the tickets not appear on the Event Single page.

Let me know if you still have questions.

    Hi, Cliff

thanks for your reply – and persistence!

Took a look at the video (no sound?)
The very thing I wanted to see happen is not shown – the demonstrator “cheats” by using the Permalink.
(incidentally – the demo doesn’t correspond to version of Events Plus 4.0.4 that I’m using)
OK let me explain what I want to see happen.

    Ticket Creator Actions
    1) We set up an event ticket – either via (eg) Events, Products.
    2) Options available – eg (as follows)
The ticket has several prices for the same event.
    Text about the event/pictures/Venue – maps/address

    Customer (purchaser)
    3) On the LIVE Website the customer has some sort of VISIBILITY of this Ticket eg:
    (in a menu/product WPEC-shop/option)
    a) as a PRODUCT in the WPEC Shop
or b) as an event ticket
    c) menu option
    4) The customer can
    c) select which ticket option he/she wants from the various ticket prices –
    d) Then decide to purchase this ticket (button > proceed to checkout)
    5) They then go to a “product” type screen where
    e) they enter things like name/address/email
    6) They can elect to purchase the ticket and > Shopping Cart>Confirmation
    f) the ticket can be paid for via (say) one of the Shop payment methods,
    Paypal for example.
    7) a confirmation email is sent to the customer showing appropriate details of
their purchase (which they can print out)
    8) Notification of the purchase can be determined by whoever set up
(or is nominated for this) the ticket in the first place.

    Things I don’t understand
    9) Setting up a ticket with multiple prices (you can set it up but you can’t SEE the optional prices)
    10) can’t find the link between the 2 & 3 above.
    11) none of actions #3 to #8 seem to exist. (well – I can’t make it work)

I would have thought that if the plugin works with WPEC the ticket would turn up as a PRODUCT
In the WPEC shop which can be purchased like any other product in the shop.

    Does this help?

    Best Regards
    Roger

Hi Roger. I hope this 5 minute video with audio will help you understand better: http://cl.ly/0C0E2a11280W

If it doesn’t, it’s your turn to send some screenshots or video. 🙂

Hi, since I’ve not heard anything back (from my query, above) I’ve decided to ditch this product. Therefore, can you please arrange for my refund to be paid back into my Visa card account.
With much regret (& thanks for your help Cliff)

    Hi Roger.

You said, “…since I’ve not heard anything back…” Did you see this previous reply?

    Hi, Cliff –

Thanks heaps for getting back to me.

Unfortunately I did not get the email below.

However – thank for your time in recording the demo – specially for me.

Having gone through it all once more – in detail – what happens the demo
all goes pear-shaped from the, ‘get-go’ as they say,
    in my set up.

    My Comments
    1) Using the “Events” icon as you do in your demo – I don’t get an option to “Add New” event
    2) I CAN “add New” from my own Event Plugin..

    NOTE: Permalink: : http://dwcatest04.onlinewebshop.net/events/02-test/ ‎

    3) After Saving the ticket I don’t get the message “Your Ticket has been Saved” or the next three lines naming the Ticket –etc.

    – SO –
    – I follow all the steps –
    – BUT –

My Final Event has no mention of a ticket.

SO – I don’t get to anything remotely resembling your “ticket” screen (as in the Demo)

I think the problem MUST lie in the fact that there’s some form of conflict between
the Event Manager we’re using and the one that comes with Event Ticketing Plus

    Regards Roger
(BTW – How do I enter screen shot or send a file?)

So are you saying you’re trying to use Event Tickets Plus with WP e-Commerce WITHOUT using The Events Calendar? If that’s correct, please link to the event manager/plugin you’re using.

    Thanks.

hi, Cliff thanks for swift reply.

I’m already using Dropbox – but don’t I need to invite you to share the folder with my DB?
ie – I need an email address of some sort. – OR you must invite me.?
