And it is just causing problems. I used to be able to duplicate old events to use as templates, and if they had been associated to Eventbrite, the new version could be saved without connecting. Now the new event is still connected as if it was the original.
I was using it with facebook, but at this point it doesn’t work and I just want it gone. What do I need to do?
September 11, 2018 at 11:44 am #1618839CourtneyMemberHey Ben
Facebook recently declined our efforts to work with them. https://theeventscalendar.com/important-facebook-api-changes/ We are terribly sorry about this.
You can still import events using either of these 2 options outlined in How to Import Facebook Events into Event Aggregator https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-import-facebook-events-into-event-aggregator/, though it is a less ideal method than we previously had available.
Needless to say, we are just as stuck and frustrated as our clients on this issue. If anything changes, we will continue to keep you updated through our social channels, blog posts, newsletters, and on https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy and https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/.
To deactivate Event Aggregator, simply remove your license from Events » Settings » Licenses and/or delete any scheduled imports. It is not a stand-alone plugin, but comes with The Events Calendar. It does nothing without an active license, and is no more or less code either way. All the actual work is processed on our servers before events are imported to your site.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/ is a 3rd party plugin that we do not maintain nor support but has worked well to help some people duplicate their events.
We are experiencing a few bugs with the Eventbrite importer. Can you tell me which way you are importing events from Eventbrite? Are you using the Eventbrite tickets importer still? Are you seeing tickets display on your site? And are you using it to publish events to Eventbrite?
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks
