ParticipantI want to use a shortcode to display a filtered category at the bottom of a page. I don’t want it to show up if there are no events that match the filter. Is that possible with a shortcode?
I would use the widget to do that but right now I am using beaver builder and I cannot get the filter to work.
Either option for getting this working is fine.

KeymasterHey Drew,
Thanks for going Pro and welcome to the forums!
I believe the easiest would be to use the widget, as that functionality is not available with our shortcodes. It’s possible that it could be done but would require some coding and possibly changing some core files.
Other option would be creating a totally unique page template for that, but again that would require extensive coding, which we are limited in supporting.
If you need help for developing that, here’s a list of guys from the community who could possibly help you out: list of freelancers
Let me know if I can be of any more help.
Cheers,

ParticipantI am all for using the widget method. However, I am struggling a bit with it. I am using Beaver Builder to build my page layouts but when I go to add the widget the “filter” section does not work. Any idea how to get this working? I have attached a screenshot.
It does this in both chrome and safari. I have the latest version of WordPress and the latest of both plugins.

ParticipantHere is the screenshot. Here is the website for Beaver Builder. https://www.wpbeaverbuilder.com
Here is what the Beaver Builder support team said:
Issues like this are usually caused by how the plugin’s widget is only coded to work on the backend(Widgets section), but not on the frontend. The widget usually misses a few assets to work since they were only being loaded on the backend. Feel free to get in touch with the plugin author and see if they’re willing to make it work on the frontend. 🙂

KeymasterHello Drew,
Please give me some time to check with the developers what can be done. I’ll be in touch soon.
Thanks!

KeymasterHello Drew,
I’m sorry to keep you waiting for so long. This thread fell below my radar. Apologies.
I checked and there seems to be a conflict between our plugin and beaver builder. I will log a bugticket for this so our developers can take a look at it, however I cannot commit to any timeframe at the moment.
As for the shortcode I am checking if there’s a solution for that, but didn’t get any answers yet.
What you can for sure do is hide it with CSS. If that would be a solution, then let me know.
Cheers,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
