ParticipantOn most events the hover preview works fine, but on some events it doesn’t. When I look at the console, if I hover on an event that works, I get no error but when I hover on an event on which the preview fails I get the following error:
tribe_tmpl_tooltip:19 Uncaught TemplateError: TypeError: Cannot read property ‘length’ of null (on tribe_tmpl_tooltip line 8)
(anonymous function) @ tribe_tmpl_tooltip:19

dispatch @ jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:3
r.handle @ jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:3I’ve tried changing the theme to 2016 and turning off all plugins except TEC and TECPro, with no change. I saw a forum post that attributed a similar error to not having a featured image, but adding a featured image didn’t change anything.
If you look at http://www.theoldgallery.org/events/ on Sat July 9 Cowboy Brad … does NOT display a preview, though the other 2 events that day do. Same with the Some Enchanted Evening on July 23. Many other examples.

ModeratorHey Margie,
If you haven’t already, can you set ‘WP_DEBUG’ to ‘true’ on your wp-config.php file and let me know if you see any errors at the top of your page? If you take a look at our demo site, you’ll see July 16th has 3 events similar to July 23rd on your calendar. The hover tooltips are working correctly. Additionally, I’m unable to reproduce the error on my test environment and I’m not seeing anything in the logged bug reports.
Let me know your findings and have a good rest of your day.

ParticipantI enabled debug and debug display but saw no errors on the page. Please note that it’s not just the third entry on a date, sometimes it’s the second, and sometimes the first (and only). Some days have 3 events all of which work. From my testing it’s not the recurring events, and it is mostly the special events, like the theater, or a concert, or a comedy show – stuff that really needs the extra info; of course – new corollary to Murphy’s Law.
This is kind of a big deal, and it’s just a tad disappointing that we’ve run into 2 unexplained problems in our first month and a half of use of the pro plugin. My client is not real happy with me, or The Events Calendar, at the moment.

ModeratorHi Margie,
Thanks for the update. I understand your frustration, but theme and plugin conflicts are outside what we’re able to cover.
With that said, can you please confirm the issue occurs with the Twenty Sixteen theme and only our plugins active? Review our Testing for conflicts guide and report back if the tooltip hover issue still occurs.
If it’s a theme/plugin conflict, you’ll need to reach out to someone who can help address the issue. We have a handy list of customizers that can take on the project.
Again, I apologize I don’t have a better answer for you at this time. Take care and enjoy your weekend.

ParticipantPLease note that in my original post I said that I had indeed turned off ALL plugins except for TEC/TEC pro and switched to 2016 with no improvement.
So it is NOT a plugin or theme conflict.
Thanks.

ModeratorHey Margie,
If possible, would you so kindly create a new WP installation in a subdirectory, such as http://www.theoldgallery.org/testsite, with nothing but TEC+ECP and ping us when it’s up and ready. Let me know if you’re able to accommodate my request and thanks for working with me on the issue!
Take care 🙂
