Today, I purchased The Events Calendar Pro plugin and after activating it, the upcoming events list on the home page disappears. As soon as I deactivate the Pro plugin and just continue using the core events plugin, all is well and the upcoming events list reappears on the home page.

    Site URL: http://www.thebridgemarkham.com
I’m using the Divi Theme by Elegant Themes, Version: 2.5.3

As you recommended in other forums, I have also unchecked the two options:
Events > Settings > General Tab > “Recurring event instances”
Events > Settings > General Tab > “Include events in main blog loop”
however, it does not temporary bring back our events feed on home page. So, for now I am deactivating our Pro plugin until this is resolved. Note, I also upgraded to Events Calendar to 3.12.2 after it was released today, which was supposed to resolve this issue, however I am still experiencing this bug. Please advise when this bug is fixed.

Not sure if this is related or not, but I am also getting an error message when I click on these two sub-menus:
    Events > Tags
    Events > Event Categories

The error message I get is:
Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Terms_List_Table’ not found in /home/sayah37/public_html/wp-admin/includes/list-table.php on line 53

Please let me know how to resolve this fatal error and how to start using the Pro Plugin Add-on without losing the home page events.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Sorry for the issues here. I can help out.

This is a new issue as the check before was not for the this fatal error: Class ‘WP_Terms_List_Table’

Are all your plugins and WordPress up to date?

From researching the issue it appears this happens on a bad update from WordPress:

    fatal error: Class ‘WP_Terms_List_Table’

Are you able to do a reinstall of WordPress and see if that resolves the issue.

    Let me know.

    Thanks

WordPress is up to date, running 4.3.1
Plugins are up to date, running Events Calendar 3.12.2 and Events Calendar Pro 3.12.1
Also running Events Calendar Shortcode plugin: An addon to add shortcode functionality for The Events Calendar Plugin (Free Version) by Modern Tribe. | Version 1.0.11 | By Dandelion Web Design Inc.

    I am experiencing two issues:
    1. When Pro plugin is activated, events on homepage disappear. This bug was supposed to be resolved in the latest update.
    2. When I click on Events > Tags or Event Categories, I get the fatal error message, which is a new issue. This happens when Pro plugin is both activated and deactivated.

Reinstalling WordPress is a big undertaking to just “see” if it resolves the issue. Is there anything else I can try first before this?

    Hi,

Ok lets see what we can do to get to the bottom of this.

When you say Events Disappear, where are they suppose to appear? I visited your site and not exactly sure.

Were they showing with your blog posts? If not, what was showing the events on the home page?

If it is through that Events Calendar Shortcode plugin I am unable to troubleshoot on it as we did not develop it. Their support forum on WordPress.org is the place for issues with it.

The fatal error is saying a class is missing in WordPress. The only way to troubleshoot that is to try and fix the WordPress install so unfortunately, reinstalling WordPress is the best way to do that. You can ftp all the WordPress files over the existing install (wp-admin and wp-includes directories only). That is the quickest way to do that. The other option is to following our testing for conflicts guide:

Testing Conflicts With Themes and Other Plugins

But I do not think that will solve a missing class in WordPress error, it is possible it could though or at least narrow down the issue.

Also, I tried to reproduce the error on a couple sites, but they are all working for me.

Let me know about what I asked above.

    Thanks

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for looking at our site. I’m populating some events right now and needed to turn on the Pro plugin, so that’s why you couldn’t find it. I’ve deactivated the Pro plugin again. So if you go to http://www.thebridgemarkham.com, on the right sidebar, you’ll see the Give button and then Upcoming Events. The whole upcoming events section disappears when Pro plugin is activated. This is our gateway to the events calendar, visible on all pages, so without it, we have no events.

Looking into your other questions now.

Ok I see the Upcoming Events Now.

    This is what I see:

    Firefox Screenshot 2015 09 24T18 56 55 450Z

Looks like it is from our Event List Widget.

Also, the issue fixed in 3.12.1 was not the widget not showing events, but events shown in the main loop on the home page with posts causing neither to show.

Let me know about the rest.

    Thanks

    Hi Brian,

Yes, that sidebar widget is what we should be seeing when Events Pro is activated.

Thanks for clarifying the issue fixed in 3.12.1. My apologies for getting that mixed up.

    Ok…

I went through the testing for conflicts guide and in step 1, I do not see the Twenty Thirteen theme, so can’t activate it. I did notice that below the themes is “Broken Themes” and I see the name “tribe-events” with a description of “stylesheet is missing”. I believe tribe-events is connected to Events Calendar plugin. Is this connected to our issue at all?

I will try deactivating plugins to see if there’s a conflict. Will I lose data/content/settings by deactivating and reactivating them? Or does it simply turn them off and on?

    No worries about the widget.

Activating our plugins does not delete events or remove settings, but it is always a good idea to backup your site just in case.

It should be the same for all plugins, but I cannot say for sure. That is why it is always a good idea to backup.
