Google Maps Not Loading

Hi, In this article you never really state what we should do if even after obtaining an API key, the maps still won’t load. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/

I’ve obtained an API key, but its still not loading. You can see an example on this page.

It worked before; only recently started getting the “oops” error message. Only recently tried to fix it with an API key. But the key did nothing.

Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help troubleshoot this with you.

I visited your site and see this error in your console:

Google Maps API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#referer-not-allowed-map-error

So it appears the referrer url is not setup correctly for your api.

It should look something like this:

*.website.com/*

What do you have there? (you can provide it in a private reply)

Since the site doesn’t use www. it is
britefire.com/*

Previously I tried
*.britefire.com/* and it didn’t work either.

It’s working now!! Your question led me to look closely. And I realized I had an extra period in there. So its working for a non www site using

britefire.com/*
