Google Maps Not Displaying Properly

Hi,

I’m having trouble with the Google Maps function on my calendar events. Just recently all of the maps for my events are showing the following error:

“Oops, something went wrong.”
“This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.”

I was reading on the forums that possibly inputting a GoogleMaps API key might fix this issue. So I’ve tasked a team member with generating one and will try to see if it fixes the issue.

I was wondering if you might have any other advice on how to remedy the problem? I’ve provided a screen shot and link in case you wanted to look at it first hand. Thanks for your time.

Hi, Simon.

You should try to enable display of the Google Map on this event and then see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)

If you can’t figure it out, please let me know when the issue appears again and I’ll take a look for you.

Simon / Kevin,

It sounds like the site you’re using that API key at is not whitelisted (or is setup incorrectly) in your Google Maps API settings.

Please reference the information at the bottom of https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/ to point you in the right direction to clear this up.
