Google Map not showing up

    Hi,

    I am using the Events Calendar Pro Plugin and on the ‘venue’ page the Google Maps box is empty. It just has a gray background.

    There are no errors in the console. This is the weird output:

    <div class="tribe-events-map-wrap">
    <div id="tribe-events-gmap-Ab dem" style="height: 200px; width: 100%"></div><!-- #tribe-events-gmap-Ab dem -->
    </div>

    The address, zip code and country are entered and maps are activated in the settings and for the venue itself.

    Any ideas?

    We are sorry to hear about the Google Map not displaying in single events.
    I would love to help you with this topic.

    The first thing I would recommend is to deactivate the Event Rocket plugin.
    Although this has been a great plugin, it is no longer maintained and is known to break features since 4.0.

    The good news is that many of it’s features are now a part of our other plugins.

    Secondly, could you ensure you have a Google Maps API key set up as recommended here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/

    Hi Geoff,

    thanks for the reply. I deleted “Event Rocket”, but that wasn’t the issue. API Key was also in place.

    I dug around in the forums and found this: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/google-map-not-displaying-on-events-or-venue-pages/

    I had a similar issue, where the ‘gettext’ filter in my functions.php was getting in the way. I solved this by replacing the var $index in my childtheme (/tribe-events/modules/map.php) with a ‘0’. Since I only have one map per page, I think its the simplest solution.

    It worked 🙂
