Getting only first event of Google Calendar recurring event with iCal import

I know there are some know issues with Google Calendar recurring events and plans are in place to fix in a future release. When can we expect the fix and what is the workaround in the meantime? My client cannot move from Google calendar but I’d like to keep The Events Calendar on their new website.

Thanks for reaching out to us! As you say this is still not supported in iCal importer.

I see there’s already a ticket created to address this in our product backlog and it will be included in our upcoming release coming out next month. Please note that this is subject to change, as the release is still in the initial QA phase. But hopefully we can see this out soon!

Per Brian’s suggestion here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/importing-recurring-google-calendar-events/#dl_post-991404 – it seems that the only work aorund this is importing events individually.
