Get Organizer ID from Organizer Name

I’m trying to get the organizer ID from the organizer name, and can’t quite figure out how to do it. Is there a function similar to WordPress’s get_category_by_slug() as shown here https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_category_by_slug ?
