Richard
ParticipantHi there,
I am thinking about purchasing the Event Ticket Plus option for my website. I have a question or two, I hope you can answer before I go ahead.
1.) I have a need to collect more information from an attendee. My events will be strictly seminars and classes. Further to Name and Email, I require a few background questions answered by the attendee. (examples are things like age, experience level, etc.) Can this be added by a novice coder like me? Or maybe Is there some way I can integrate “Contact form 7” plugin to collect information… I am not sure how to approach this. (these are paid events – I have woocommerce in there too)
2.) Can I edit the ticket sale confirmation email? Or would this be in the woocommerce part of my site?
3.) Can I sell a ticket upgrade option. (example: Attendance ticket cost is $100, Add personal coaching +$50 to standard ticket)
You can see that if I have 20 seats at a venue I would have 20 $100 tickets. I couldn’t really say 10 $100 tickets and 10 $150 tickets.…I am really thinking hard about buying your plug-in… with exchange as it is it will cost me closer to $130 Canadian.
Thanks in advanced for your help.

MemberHi Richard. Thanks for considering our PRO and Event Tickets Plus add-ons. I’ll try to answer your questions as succinctly as possible.
You may not need the PRO add-on, unless you want to have recurring events or custom fields for your events (not your attendees).
If you want to sell tickets, you’d need our Event Tickets plugin (allows free RSVP tickets) with its Event Tickets Plus add-on (to sell via WooCommerce).
- Yes, via the options referenced in https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-extra-information-from-event-attendees/
- Yes. It’d require a little bit of custom coding (basically copying the existing file(s) and making your modifications to them in your child theme’s folder). Reference: Themer’s Guide
- Not yet. Our Event Tickets free/core plugin will eventually have what we’re calling “global stock” functionality. As of today, this doesn’t exist. If I’m not mistaken, it’s on the sooner-than-later list of things to implement.
Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

ParticipantThank you Cliff! That answers my questions quite rightly.
I think for now I have some ideas about an interim solution to my issue.
For now, I think we’ll collect attendee info manually using email (events typically have 20 participants – relatively easy to manage.)I’ll be waiting on that Global Stock addition… for now I think we can upgrade tickets and sell ticket manually as well.
Looking forward to automate this process in the future thought!
Thanks,

MemberI’m glad to hear that. 🙂
I’d suggest getting started by using the Event Tickets core/free plugin for now, since it enables basic/free RSVP functionality and it’s required to eventually use the Event Tickets Plus add-on.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Have a great one!
