Follow up to 4.0 Release

Is it going to be possible to obtain an Alpha copy of your 4.0 plugins? I’m on a deadline to start a large customization project on your plugins and really would prefer to be aware of all the changes coming to the 4.0 codebase. I don’t want to have my contractor fork/extend the 3.12 plugins now, only for us to find out that we have to re-do all of the work after having 4.0 in hand. Please advise.

Hi Karly, thanks for following up!

I don’t have a solid copy of 4.0 to share just yet, but have you at least signed up to be a beta tester? We’re expecting to kick that off soon–well ahead of release–which would give you early access when we do have something available to pass out.

Hi Geoff,

Thank you for your quick response. Disappointed to hear there likely won’t be an Alpha copy available, but yes, I have signed up to be a beta tester. Do you guys still expect to release that in late October/early November (e.g. in the next week or so?). If you can’t tell, we’re more than eager to try it out and help with QA! 🙂

We’re itching to release it as well. 🙂

The plan is still to kick the beta off in the next week or so. I’ve checked into the process and do not see any hitches that would prevent it from happening on time.

We will likely provide an alpha copy after the test period so that others will have a chance to test the updates with plenty of advance notice prior to the official release. Beta testers will get earlier access though. 🙂
