ParticipantHello,
I’ve noticed a pattern with some recurring events. When the first day of a recurring event is clicked, it takes the user to the event details page for the last day of the series. Here are two examples:
http://rotarycentreforthearts.com/event/the-full-monty/all/
Click on April 14th (first recurrence) and you are taken to the last recurrence, April 23rdhttp://rotarycentreforthearts.com/event/huff/all/
Click on March 11th and you are taken to March 12th event details pageSome other recurring events don’t have this issue and work fine, such as:
http://rotarycentreforthearts.com/event/salsa-thursdays/all/One difference I see is that the Full Monty and Huff events are daily recurrences and Salsa is a weekly recurrence.
I tested in the Twenty Fifteen theme and same thing happens. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks

MemberHi,
Thanks for using our plugins. I can help troubleshoot this with you.
I visited your site and see what you mean.
Can you provide the Event Recurring settings for both of those that do not link correctly?
I am going to try and replicate the issue on my test site to see if I can narrow down the cause of this.
Let me know.
Thanks

MemberHi,
I was able to replicate both events and there are no issues on my test site. So it is not clear what is the issue.
I changed the date format to what you had as well and it still worked.
Can you please try resaving permalinks:
Admin > Settings > Permalinks > “Save Changes”
And then recreate the Huff event as a title and see if the new version still does it.
From there we can do some more conflicting testing if it is still an issue.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Brian,
I re-saved permalinks. Then created a new recurring event, recurring every day for 8 days, with a couple of exclusions. Saved and clicked on the first instance of the series which took me to the correct event detail page. If I save the event series again (whether I make a change or not), the next time I view the series and click on the first event, it takes me to the last instance of the series. So the second save of a daily recurring event seems to be when the problem starts.
On a side-note, created a weekly recurring event today and noticed that only the first occurrence of the series is being created. This is new since the updates from two days ago.
Thanks

MemberThanks for that information.
I tried to reproduce on my test site.
I created a recurring event that runs everyday for a week.
I then visited and everything worked.
I went back and resaved and it still worked for me.
I went back again and made a couple changes and saved again, and it still worked.
I also tried with Recurring Event I created modeling after your event (The Full Monty) at least I think that was yours and it still worked for me too.
So not sure why I cannot reproduce it.
Can you please follow our testing for conflicts guide:
And see if that can narrow down the cause of this.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Brian,
I’ve tested by deactivating all plugins and reactivating one by one, first with the Enfold theme activated and then with the Twenty Fifteen theme activated. In both cases I got the same results (in regards to clicking on the first instance of a recurring series and being taken to the last instance of the series).
The issue only happens when I activate Events Calendar Pro. I can have every other plugin activated along with The Events Calendar and it works fine. But when I activate Events Cal Pro, that’s when the first event instance doesn’t link correctly. I got the same results with both themes. I tried deleting my tribe-events folder from my child theme folder (with Events Cal Pro activated) and made no difference.
This is the event used to test – http://rotarycentreforthearts.com/?s=huff
Hopefully something gives a clue to a solution. Please let me know if you need more detail. Thanks

MemberOk I took a look.
And when I disable the Redirection Plugin everything works.
When it is active the Huff event redirects.
I went it on my test version of the site and disabled all the huff mentions in there and everything worked.
So at least on my test site that appears to be the issue.

ParticipantWow, not sure how I missed that. Thanks so much Brian.
Redirects are something we’d like to keep using. Is there another plugin or method you can recommend that will play well with Events Cal Pro?
February 5, 2016 at 12:58 pm #1068467Brian
MemberWe do not have recommendations for a redirect plugin. Those plugins can break any site if not used correctly. It would be trial and error not matter which plugin you used for them to work right.

ParticipantOkay, thanks
