Chris
ParticipantI just upgraded from 2.011 to 3.9.3 and am getting this error on every page in the backend of my wordpress set up. I can’t add posts, media, or edit any contet I just get an endless scroll of the following error messages:
Warning: array_diff() [function.array-diff]: Argument #1 is not an array in /home/content/08/6077308/html/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/lib/tribeeventspro-postmetacopier.php on line 34
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/08/6077308/html/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/lib/tribeeventspro-postmetacopier.php on line 35
Site: http://tadoo.com/
Everything the public sees shows just fine, but no access to the backend. PLEASE HELP!!! My client is freaking out and I’m starting to get there. I can’t turn off plugins to test for conflicts or anything like that either. ZERO ACCESS to the backend now. c

MemberHi there, Chris!
Do you happen to have the latest versions of both The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO installed? Mixing version numbers can certainly have the sort of impact you’re describing here and that would be the first thing to check out.
Let me know and we can go from there. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantThis started when I updated to the latest version of both

MemberDo you have any other customizations in place? For example, a subdirectory in your theme called tribe-events or added snippets to your functions.php file?
Also, does the error come up when using a default WordPress theme? How about when using a default WordPress theme and deactivating all other plugins, except The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO?
Thanks!

ParticipantNo subdirectories or changes to functions file.
I can’t test it now as it is the weekend and the main time it gets used. I’ll try turning everything off Sunday and respond with the results.

MemberI will also note that creating a subdirectory on your host and creating a fresh WordPress install would be a suitable test as well without interrupting your live site. Just set that up and install nothing else other than the two The Events Calendar plugins and leave the default WordPress theme active.

ParticipantSure, is it possible to roll back to 2.011 version of both. It worked great with the set up we had for a couple of years and if that would work I’d be glad to do it that way. Whatever is the easiest way to maintain the current site is what we need. I can’t just switch themes and turn off all of the plugins and call it good. There is a lot of work that has gone into this site.

MemberSure! You can snag an older copy of The Events Calendar PRO by logging into this site, then heading to My Accounts > Downloads. From there, select the version of the plugin and download. Make sure to use the same version for both plugins so they’re in sync. 🙂
If you get to the point where you’d like to update the plugins to their latest versions, it would definitely be a good idea to test them on a development site first and make backups of your files and database before deploying.
Cheers!

ParticipantI would need to roll back the Events Calendar not the PRO version. Is that possible. This is a nightmare. The client is so angry and they’ve lost a lot of their recurring events and a lot of he homepage was running off the widgets. Please advise.

MemberHi Chris,
Yes, it’s definitely possible to roll back The Events Calendar–we keep a full archive of past releases here.
I would still recommend using the same version of PRO that you use for core version The Events Calendar. The plugins are designed in such a way that they should be synced to the same version. However, rolling back to the last version/s that you had been using prior to the updates should get you back to the state you originally had minus the widgets, which may need to be re-applied.

ParticipantGreat. Any steps to take prior to doing this? Do I upload the older version of the calendar with the current one active or deactivate the current version and upload the older one? Any other procedural stuff to keep in mind?

MemberGood questions. This article here will detail everything you need to know about updating the plugins on a step-by-step basis. It talks about updates, but the same principles hold true for rolling back to previous versions as well.
Cheers!
