I run event calendar PRO version 3.9 and event calendar version 3.9.1 and when I search for events it takes a very long time (so long that new results have not been seen).

Can you advise on how to stop this?

The layouts have been customized to show two columns of results and the two views (map and list) are identical.

This is a production site so deactivating plugs and changes themes is not an option at this moment.

    Hey Stephen,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

I took a look at your site and noticed that the views don’t update when using the bar at the top of the events pages. Looking closer, this doesn’t appear to be due to a performance issue with the queries taking too long, it appears to be a javascript error where the page isn’t picking up the requested information from that bar.

To see this better, go to https://stepitupdance.co.uk/booking/ and select a random date sometime in the future. You’ll see what you’re describing here where it never leaves the loading screen. Now, click on the view section at the top and switch to the “map” view. You’ll see the page now loads with the selected date passed to the URL in a query string.

With this, it sounds like the issue is due to a customization of the views that has been made to get the custom layouts that you do have. Unfortunately, the only way to test is to follow the Testing for Conflicts procedures and switching to a default WordPress theme and deactivating other plugins. The best option would be to setup a new install on the same server and test or set up a staging environment for this current site to be able to test things like this for our plugins as well as any other changes/updates you want to make to a site in the future.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks!

    Thank you Josh.

I will set up a duplicate site on my local computer to test it out.

To save me a little time can you confirm that the javascript files that may be the cause of the error or at least the solution are one the of resources/tribe-event-ajax-%.js files or resources/tribe-event-bar.js

And what would be the best to customize the file(s)?

    Thank you

    Stephen

Thank you for directing me to look where to look at the problem.

I have since found the problem (a http protocol calling a https protocol) and a solution (using https on the page).
