We have many clubs on our site and each have several recurring events. Some of them have websites and wish to show their events on their websites. Is there a way that only events from a specific “organiser” can been shown maybe using RSS?
Can I please also ask, is the Google Calendar sync in both directions ie. if we add an event in the plugin will it appear in Google?
    Regards
    James

    Hi James,

Thanks for reaching out to us! I’ll help you here…

Is there a way that only events from a specific โ€œorganiserโ€ can been shown maybe using RSS?

You can get an ics/iCal feed (like rss but specific for events) for the Organizer Events by using the following URL structure: http://sitename.com/organizer/org-name/. Do you think this might do the trick?

is the Google Calendar sync in both directions ie. if we add an event in the plugin will it appear in Google?

If you refer to iCal Importer add-on, it just imports events from Google Calendar (or any other ics formated feed), doesn’t send events created in your site to Google Calendar. We are exploring the possibility of adding this, which we know will be useful for many folks!

Please let me know if this answers your questions,
    Have a great weekend,
    Nico

Thank you for coming back to me Nico.
So we have and organiser here http://www.funferret.co.uk/organiser/5-star-unique-talent-dance-drama-and-singing-classes/
What would be the URL to get the iCal?

    Hey James,

Thanks for the quick follow-up! My bad I forgot to include the magic part of the URL ๐Ÿ˜›

http://sitename.com/organizer/org-name/?ical=1 that should do the trick. This is the same URL you’ll find at the bottom of the page ‘+ Export listed events’.

Checking this in your site: http://www.funferret.co.uk/organiser/5-star-unique-talent-dance-drama-and-singing-classes/?ical=1 doesn’t return the expected feed of events nor the link at the bottom of the page is doing ๐Ÿ™

Can you please follow the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide? This way we can see if this is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins.

Please let me know about it,
    Best,
    Nico

    Thank you Nico,
We are still looking into why the ical isn’t working on our site.
However I am not sure if this is going to be the right method for us. What we really need is to be able to give our partners an RSS feed address so that they can display events we have recorded onto their site. So (to use your demo site) something like http://wpshindig.com/venue/warrandyte-primary-school/rss OR http://wpshindig.com/venue/warrandyte-primary-school/feed as per the
Is this possible? Or can you think of another way. We are happy to pay for all our licences but they aren’t convinced and not all are on WordPress.
    Regards
    James

    Thanks for the follow-up James!

I think we can make it work with a little snippet to filter the events RSS by venue which I think it’s not possible out of the box.

So for example this is the main events feed: http://wpshindig.com/events/feed/ – Can you check if the formats works for you?

I’m thinking in adding a query string (http://wpshindig.com/events/feed/?venue=my-venue) to the URL to filter the events in the feed. Does this sound like something you would be happy with? If that’s the case I’ll go ahead and code this for you ๐Ÿ™‚

    Cheers,
    Nico
