events functionality
– users can submit their events
– these events are then held for approval by wp admin
– post approval they show up on a map view (ideally Google) of the US with pointers
– if you submit an event, I should be able to send you, the organizer of the event a message about it without knowing your email address (think Kijiji)

I know that some of feature above can be found through the community and pro plugin however i am un sure about approval and masking emails. and if these are not include what would it take to add these features?

The first 3 would definitely be possible with a combination of the Community Events plugin as well as the PRO plugin.

However, I’m not sure I follow the last request. Are you wanting there to be some sort of internal messaging system between the site owner and users submitting events that doesn’t go through email?

when users visiting the site, see an event they like and would like to contact the person who posted the event. i would like like for them to be able to email the event poster or contact them in some manner that would not give them the event poster’s email. kijiji has an intermediate system for emails where the site emails users

the communication is between visitors through the site to the event poster

Hey Javian,

There isn’t anything built into our plugin that would manage that. However, you could use a form plugin and customize a hidden field to be populated with the organizer email field or the event author email field upon submission.

Hey Javian,

This forum is actually a highly customized version of bbPress. However, it may be overkill for what you’re trying to accomplish.

As far as cost for what you need, you would need a copy of PRO as well as Community Events ($178 combined). Would also need a form plugin, which you could find many free versions of those in the WordPress.org repository.
