Featured Images in Events

I have the event list at right with featured images included. However, I’d like the image to display with no cropping above the calendar icon and event date. I’d also like the excerpt to display.

Hi. Thanks for your question.

That’s because you’re pulling in your “Thumbnail” size image. Your site’s Media Settings must have it set to 150×150 with a hard crop.

You can uncheck the hard crop option in Media Settings and then regenerate all thumbnails, or you could change 'thumbnail' in that code to another valid image size, like ‘medium’.

The Simple Image Sizes plugin may be of use (third party, no guarantees).

Thanks! Is there a way to place that on a line by itself before the calendar icon? And how can I show the excerpt?

As a help for your latest questions:

1. try wrapping it in a <div> so that it gets display:block;
2. the_excerpt()
