Hi guys, this ones been bugging me for a while! I like to share my calendar on Social Media (of course!) so people can find out all the awesome events coming up.

When you share the link, the social media platforms (e.g LinkedIn, Facebook etc) have no defined image to use for the calendar page. So by default (and I am using Yoast) they will use the default image.

I want to have an image specific to the Calendar but there is no where in your settings to upload one? Normally on any page/post you can assign a featured image for example. Am I missing something here?

    Hi Justin

On the right side of your event editor should be a featured image spot, just the same as in your “Posts” layout. If you aren’t seeing it, please see our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?  I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.

That said, I’d still suggest using Yoast to set the images you want for social media previews, as each platform has its own preferred dimensions.

Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

Thanks Courtney. That works fine if I am wanting to promote a particular
event – then yes absolutely there is the featured image section on the
right hand side. But if I want to promote the calendar as a whole, there is
no where to edit/access that particular page. I’m using the default Events
Template (in Display options) and the default slug:
    https://cxcentral.com.au/events/

From what I can tell there is no way to edit the default events template
(to add an image) unless you do it via php? I would have thought there
would be an options on your settings/display section to set a default image
for the calendar when someone is just on the default view of
    domain.com/events?

    Help!

    Hi Justin

Ah, now I follow. Sorry about that. You are correct in that we don’t have an easy way to modify that calendar page. If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.

You can suggest it it http://tribe.uservoice.com.

That said, we do have a starting point for your customizations at our Themer’s Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/.

We’re limited in helping with styling customizations, per our Scope of Support / Terms.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
